For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu . Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening for the Executive Director of the Raritan Valley Community College Foundation. The Executive Director of the RVCC Foundation reports to the President and provides the vision, planning, and execution of fundraising and development-related activities that benefit the College. The Executive Director is responsible for overall strategic planning, revenue generation, financial management, organizational development, staff management, and program operations. The Executive Director is responsible for aligning the Foundation's strategic plan with that of the College's strategic plan to meet the established goals of the College and to advance the mission of the Foundation through relationship management, fiduciary responsibility, organizational stewardship, and advocacy. The Executive Director of the RVCC Foundation works with the Foundation Board of Directors, Senior Executive Staff, Deans, Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and Students. The College is seeking a dynamic and innovator leader; a creative problem solver; an eloquent and persuasive advocate for our students; a colleague with integrity and compassion. Essential Duties:
Relationship Management:
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, building long-term and meaningful relationships. Forge innovative partnerships with corporations, businesses and foundations to identify and secure new funding sources to launch new initiatives that benefit RVCC students and faculty. Build and maintain a diverse, participatory, and committed Foundation Board of Directors. Work closely with Foundation staff and provide oversight of annual giving activities and campaign projects. Maintain close relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, and students to ensure the Foundation is responsive to the needs of the College community.
Fiduciary Responsibility:
Plan and administer the Foundation's annual operating budget, and provide regular financial monitoring reports to the Foundation Board of Directors. Exhibit impeccable ethical judgment. Comply with all the regulations of the Foundation's By-Laws and 50C3 regulations. Develop and implement procedures and policies with the Foundation Board of Directors that serve the best interest of RVCC and donors.
Organizational Stewardship:
Ensure the Foundation has appropriate operational systems to accurately record and monitor donor activity. Supervise all resource development database operations, including donor prospect research, cultivation, acknowledgement systems, and all grant reporting systems. Monitor program outcomes and exhibit strong fiscal management.
Advocacy:
Represent the College and the Foundation at corporate meetings, government meetings, and public forums, and build long-term relationships with community/business/government organizations. Develop strategic communications vehicles and provide clear, concise, and compelling messaging that inspire individuals, foundations, and corporations to engage with the Foundation. Promote RVCC's visibility through membership in community forums, civic organizations, and other activities that align with the mission of the College.
Performance:
Staff the Foundation Board of Directors, providing support for quarterly committee and Board meetings, annual activities, projects, and more. Manage board recruitment and development. Work with the College Board of Trustees, the President, the College's executive staff, the Foundation Board of Directors, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, and other volunteers to identify, develop, and implement appropriate and diverse fundraising activities that address College priorities and raise significant funds to support existing programs and new initiatives. Provide oversight of the Foundation staff's activities with annual giving that includes grant writing, cultivation and stewardship of donors, special events, direct mail, alumni association activities, and other development-related activities. Develop and implement plans, materials, and prospect development for capital campaigns, special event activities, planned giving, and annual campaigns. Represent the College in external relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, public officials, community leaders, alumni, and parents of students. Establish annual benchmarks and goals. Prepare and maintain appropriate records and reports. Coordinate an effective program for recognition and stewardship of significant donors. Prepare and monitor the annual budget and expenditures of the Foundation Office. Verify and reconcile the expenditure of budgeted funds. Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth by keeping abreast of latest trends in development, and continually improve upon these for the benefit of the College and its Foundation. Oversee the Foundation's website and social media platforms. Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience including annual giving, planned giving, personal solicitation of major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, grant writing, volunteer training, and board development. Proven track record of securing gifts at a major gift level and being a strong relationship builder, who genuinely enjoys connecting donors with their interests. Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute a gifts campaign. Demonstrated ability to lead a staff team and manage multiple tasks and projects. Exemplary communications skills (both written and verbal). Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated computer competency and knowledge of Word, Excel, and fundraising database management. Flexibility to work some nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education preferred. As a New Jersey First Act Employer, new employees must establish a primary residence in New Jersey within one year unless an exemption applies.
