DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the overall operation of the Tukwila Pantry, including working alongside the Riverton Park United Methodist Church staff. Identifies needs and ensures resources availability, donor cultivation, ethics and safety. Supports the mission of the food bank in providing its services to the residents of Tukwila, SeaTac, Burien, and some neighboring communities.

SALARY RANGE
$30-34/hr

QUALIFICATIONS
Skilled in interpersonal communication and team management
Experience managing staff and volunteer teams
Experience in community outreach and representing a public-facing non-profit organization.
Experience in making ethical and timely financial decisions
Bachelor's degree or four years experience in related field.
Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
Comfortable communicating via email to partners and volunteers
Authorized to work in the United States
Valid Washington State driver's license
Pass a Washington State Patrol background check
Able to receive and maintain Food Handler's Permit
Able to lift 45 lbs
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure adequate levels of food for distribution while maintaining awareness of expense and community need
Manages financial activities of the food bank within the guidelines of the budget
Leads preparation of the annual budget and strategic planning of the organization.
Oversees maintenance of food bank facilities and property to appropriate health and safety standards, and reports significant problems to the Board of Directors
Oversees project management and facilities development
Maintains and upholds all contracts
Prepares and submits monthly reports to the Board of Directors
Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures of the food bank
Manages other food bank staff and volunteers
Donor/Community Relations:
Forms relationships with and represents the Tukwila Pantry to the community
Maintains consistent membership with the South King County Food Coalition, Washington State Food Coalition, and partnerships with Northwest Harvest and Food Lifeline
Identifies the need for special projects and coordinates their implementation
Forms and maintains a positive working relationship with the host organization, currently the Riverton Park United Methodist Church Responsibilities to the
Board:
Plans and conducts Annual Meeting with the support of the Board of Directors
Works with the Board of Directors to plan and implement food and fund raising campaigns
Presents updated reports and agenda at monthly Board meetings
Assists Board members in special activities as required
Volunteer and Staff Management:
Oversees personnel, paid and unpaid; writes job descriptions; recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff performance
Trains staff and volunteers to provide direct services and referrals to clients
Accountable for confidentiality regarding clients, volunteers, and staff
Promotes volunteer recognition and appreciation on a daily basis
Organizes major volunteer recognition events in collaboration with the Board and other donor organizations
Pay:
From $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
