Position Summary:
The Manager, Continuous Improvement leads the development and execution of continuous improvement across the iDC network. This role is responsible for establishing a consistent improvement methodology, prioritizing opportunities, and driving measurable, sustainable gains in safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost. The position partners closely with site leadership, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, facilitate structured problem-solving and Kaizen activity, and ensure changes are translated into clear standard work and sustained operating practices. A key focus of the role is building continuous improvement capability within the organization by strengthening problem-solving discipline, improving process ownership, and ensuring operational gains are maintained across a dynamic, multi-site workforce environment. Job Responsibilities Own the network continuous improvement and Kaizen calendar, including opportunity selection, chartering, pre-work, event facilitation, action tracking, and sustainment follow-up Deliver annual improvement targets in partnership with leadership, with clear project baselines, defined measurement methods, and Finance-validated results Lead high-impact improvement initiatives across the network and ensure projects are executed consistently using established Lean, A3, DMAIC, and structured problem-solving methodologies Establish and maintain standard continuous improvement methods, tools, templates, and governance to ensure a consistent approach across facilities Maintain a prioritized improvement pipeline by site, including estimated value, ownership, project stage, timing, and realized results Conduct post-implementation sustainment reviews and initiate corrective action where expected gains are not maintained Develop and manage a Cost of Poor-Quality program that identifies, quantifies, and prioritizes opportunities related to defects, rework, claims, errors, and customer escalations Establish process quality audits and translate findings, recurring failures, and customer issues into structured improvement initiatives in partnership with Quality and Compliance teams Build continuous improvement capability across the organization through training, coaching, certification, standard work, 5S, visual management, waste elimination, and structured problem solving Coach and develop CI team members and site practitioners, ensuring consistent project quality, methodology, and execution standards across the network Partner with site Leadership, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives, secure resources, and integrate improvement activity with operational requirements Ensure improvement projects are supported by reliable baselines, engineered standards, and validated performance data Assess continuous improvement maturity across facilities and develop action plans to strengthen site-level ownership, capability, and sustainment Prepare executive-level reporting on improvement pipeline, validated results, site maturity, key risks, and capability development Travel to network facilities as required to lead improvement activity, coach site teams, and verify implementation and sustainment Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field Minimum 5+ years of progressive operational or continuous improvement leadership within a distribution, third-party logistics or high-volume fulfillment environment Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating Kaizen or structured improvement events end to end, including post-event sustainment Lean Six Sigma certification required, Green Belt minimum, Black Belt strongly preferred, or an equivalent demonstrated body of delivered work Multi-site experience, including delivering results at facilities where the role holds influence rather than direct authority Experience quantifying cost of poor quality, labor productivity or other operational benefit, and validating delivered results with Finance Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, labor management systems and the operational reporting they produce Experience coaching, mentoring or supervising engineers, analysts or site-based improvement resources Experience building improvement capability in a high-turnover or contingent labor environment preferred Ability to travel across the network, approximately 50%, including California, Texas and East Coast facilities Essential Job Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
