Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager Dongan Electric manufactures transformers and other quality power equipment for companies around the globe. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to join our team as a Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. We are a family-owned company that has been in business for more than 110 years.
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for improving product quality and manufacturing efficiency at our Pioneer, Ohio facility. This person will lead the quality system, corrective actions, audits, and process-improvement projects while working directly with supervisors, leads, engineering, and production employees. The position is expected to spend time on the plant floor, identify the causes of recurring problems, and make sure improvements are implemented, documented, and proven effective. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to Lead the plant quality system and ensure quality procedures, inspections, records, and controls are consistently followed. Investigate customer complaints, internal defects, and recurring production problems; identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain an active list of quality issues and improvement projects with clear owners, deadlines, completion criteria, and effectiveness checks. Verify corrective actions through follow-up audits and performance data to confirm the problem does not return. Review manufacturing processes to reduce defects, rework, delays, wasted labor, and material loss. Develop practical process improvements with supervisors, leads, engineering, maintenance, and employees who perform the work. Establish and track meaningful quality and efficiency measures, identify trends, and communicate priorities and results to management. Improve work instructions, production travelers, training records, inspection requirements, and other shop-floor documentation. Support customer and third-party audits and communicate professionally with customers regarding quality concerns and improvement plans. Promote a safe, positive, and accountable work environment. Experience leading root-cause analysis, corrective actions, process audits, and measurable improvement projects. Ability to work effectively on the plant floor and hold people accountable for following established processes. Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, business, or a related field is desired, but equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered. Microsoft Office proficiency, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
