We're a small, entrepreneurial team focused on providing exceptional service while building a mortgage company that feels personal, responsive, and different from a traditional large lender. We're looking for an experienced, highly organized Mortgage Operations & Loan Officer Assistant who can help keep our loans moving, support our Loan Officers, and assist with the day-to-day operations and marketing of the business. This is an ideal position for someone who has previous mortgage experience but enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to be an important part of a growing small business. What You'll Do Loan & Processing Support You'll help manage the administrative side of our mortgage pipeline from application through closing, including: Set up new loan files and enter information into lender portals and internal systems Review files for missing documentation and follow up with borrowers Request income, asset, identification, insurance, and other required documentation Order and follow up on verifications of employment (VOEs) Order title work and communicate with title companies and closing attorneys Request homeowners insurance quotes and/or documentation Upload and organize documents within loan and lender systems Track outstanding loan conditions and help ensure deadlines are met Assist with submitting complete files to lenders Communicate with borrowers regarding outstanding documents and loan-processing needs Coordinate with Loan Officers, lenders, title companies, insurance agents, Realtors, and other parties throughout the transaction Help coordinate closing documentation and work with title/closing partners to keep closings on schedule Maintain accurate notes, milestones, tasks, and records throughout the loan process Help ensure every borrower receives proactive, responsive communication throughout the transaction Loan Officer & Business Support You'll also help our Loan Officers stay focused on originating new business rather than administrative tasks.

Responsibilities may include:

Answering incoming office calls and routing inquiries CRM data entry and database management Adding and updating leads, borrowers, Realtors, and referral partners Scheduling appointments and follow-ups Preparing basic reports and pipeline updates Organizing digital files and maintaining office systems Assisting with client and referral-partner follow-up Supporting onboarding and administrative needs as SteadyNest adds additional Loan Officers Marketing & Social Media Support This isn't a traditional back-office-only mortgage position. We're building the SteadyNest brand and would love someone who enjoys helping with marketing and content. You'll help with: Creating simple marketing flyers and graphics using Canva Preparing Realtor and client marketing materials Helping plan and schedule social media content Assisting with recording short-form videos and social media content Taking behind-the-scenes photos and videos around the office and at events Posting approved content to social platforms Helping coordinate community events, Realtor events, classes, and other SteadyNest marketing initiatives You do not need to be a professional graphic designer or social media manager. Comfort with Canva, social media, and learning new technology is more important. Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate has: Previous mortgage lending experience strongly preferred Experience as a Loan Officer Assistant, Processor Assistant, Mortgage Processor, Mortgage Operations Specialist, or similar role preferred Understanding of the mortgage process from application through closing Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Confidence communicating professionally with borrowers, Realtors, lenders, title companies, and insurance agents Ability to independently follow up and keep multiple files moving at once Strong computer and technology skills Ability to learn new lender portals and systems quickly Comfortable working in a small-business environment where responsibilities sometimes extend beyond a traditional job description A proactive mindset — you notice what needs to be done and take ownership of getting it done Friendly, professional communication skills Comfortable appearing behind the camera or helping others record social media content Canva and social media experience are a plus Experience with mortgage LOS/CRM platforms and wholesale lender portals is highly desirable. What This Position Is NOT We're not looking for someone whose only role is to wait for instructions or perform basic clerical work. We're looking for someone who can become the operational right hand of our Loan Officers — someone who understands that when a document is missing, a title order hasn't come back, a borrower hasn't responded, or a closing deadline is approaching, they proactively work to move the file forward. At the same time, this position does not require you to originate loans, sell mortgage products, quote or negotiate rates, or provide borrowers with mortgage advice. No professional license required. Schedule Hybrid - Irmo, South Carolina Approximately 20-25 hours per week to start , with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as SteadyNest expands. Regular in-office availability is important because this position also supports office operations, marketing, video creation, and our local Realtor/community outreach. The schedule can be particularly well suited for an experienced mortgage professional looking to return to the industry on a part-time basis or seeking better work-life balance. Compensation Approximately $20/hour, depending on mortgage experience and qualifications. For an exceptionally experienced candidate who can independently handle significant portions of mortgage processing and pipeline management, compensation may be negotiable. Why Join SteadyNest?
