OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The Plant Manager's primary role is to analyze and improve organizational processes and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency. The Plant Manager will oversee all Plant Operations including but not limited to dressing, processing, packaging, inventory management, order fulfillment, and delivery processes, and ensuring that every customer has an excellent one-of-a-kind experience. Cypress Valley is looking for an independent, detail-oriented thinker who has a proven track record of successfully managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. A successful candidate has the ability to provide inspired leadership, professionally develop their team, maintain an environment of trust, and promote a culture that encourages high morale, teamwork, and top performance. They will also have prior experience in management or leadership positions supervising a crew of 10-20 employees. Additionally, s/he is never satisfied with the status quo. The Plant Manager reports to the Senior Operations Manager. S/he must develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, suppliers, members, and customers. The Plant Manager will work in a team approach with the staff, management team, vendor partners, and customers to establish, maintain, measure, and revise Cypress Valley's operational systems. S/he must be a team player who is reliable and understands their dependability is important for the team's success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide inspired leadership for the team Ensure that Cypress Valley delivers on its customer promises Ensure all employees adhere to company core values Oversee all plant personnel, including dressing, processing, packaging, inventory management, order fulfillment, delivery processes Invoice customers Develop, implement, and monitor an effective operational plan that ensures a high-level customer experience from processing, packaging, delivery, and beyond Develop and adhere to the annual budget Analyze efficiency and cost reduction measures within facility operations Maintain the physical condition and cleanliness of the facility by inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement Maintain staff results by coaching, counseling, and taking corrective action with employees; plan, monitor, and conduct performance reviews Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies Ensure OSHA regulations are followed Comply with federal, state, and local guidelines and advising management on needed actions Understand employee's goals and help develop team members to grow into leadership roles Ability to review policies and procedures and implement into operations
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Dependable and reliable - must show up to work as scheduled and on time Team building skills and high emotional intelligence The ability to delegate, negotiate, and manage conflict Basic financial and budgeting skills, ability to read and interpret financial reports Proficiency in the use of the Google suite of services Microsoft Word and Excel skills Basic Quickbooks knowledge is a plus Organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills A self-starter and proactive tendencies A commitment to partner with leadership to drive a service excellence culture where every employee is a problem-solver, working together to identify and correct problems that impact the customer experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or related field strongly preferred Minimum of five years of progressively responsible positions in a complex environment in operations or business management or related field. Experience in a custom meat processing plant is preferred Experience in a supervisory/management role supervising a crew of 10-20 employees is necessary. A successful candidate will manage according to the company's core values and execute with a high degree of emotional intelligence. Experience in management, operations, and leadership Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management Solid understanding of financial management
EXPECTED RESULTS
The first 90 days: Improve profitability Develop the team to become more efficient and productive Become familiar with P&L Make sure customer service is taken to a higher level by improving the customer experience Lead, manage, and hold people accountable Learn Cypress Valley and live our core values Participate in team meetings By the end of the 1st
Season:
Fully own operations and be directly responsible for P&L results Develop and stay within an operational budget Identify and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that contribute to a balanced scorecard, that include driving revenue, controlling expenses, providing an excellent customer experience, and improved operational efficiencies. These KPIs will be reviewed with all staff on a weekly basis.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Full-time, Friday thru Wednesday with 7 days being required during peak season.
Compensation:
$30,000 - $35,000 salary for the operational season (typically October to February), depending on experience. This description is intended to outline the primary responsibilities, general nature, and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this position.
