We specialize in striping, seal coating, signage, ADA compliance, wheel stops, traffic markings, and parking lot maintenance. We are looking for a highly organized, motivated, and hands-on Operations Manager to help lead our field operations and continue building a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence. Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company while ensuring employees, equipment, and projects are operating efficiently and safely. This position plays a critical leadership role in hiring, training, coaching employees, maintaining fleet and equipment standards, enforcing company policies, improving productivity, and supporting dispatch and scheduling operations. This individual will work closely with ownership and department managers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to company standards. Primary Responsibilities Leadership & Employee Development Recruit, interview, and hire new employees. Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation. Develop and implement employee training programs. Coach supervisors and crew leaders. Conduct 30-day, 90-day, and annual performance evaluations. Create employee improvement plans when necessary. Handle disciplinary actions professionally and consistently. Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment. Operations Management Assist with daily scheduling and crew assignments. Coordinate with dispatch to maximize production and efficiency. Monitor job progress and production times. Review daily work reports and production logs. Identify operational improvements to increase efficiency. Help reduce downtime and unnecessary labor costs. Assist with customer issue resolution when needed. Safety & Compliance Lead weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks. Ensure OSHA and California safety compliance. Maintain all employee safety training records. Conduct jobsite safety inspections. Investigate accidents and near misses. Ensure employees are properly using PPE. Enforce all company safety policies and procedures. Fleet & Equipment Management Conduct weekly truck inspections. Schedule preventative maintenance. Monitor vehicle cleanliness and organization. Ensure equipment is properly maintained. Track repairs and maintenance records. Coordinate with vendors and repair facilities. Monitor fuel usage and operating costs. Performance & Accountability Monitor employee attendance and punctuality. Track productivity and crew performance. Ensure estimated production times are being met. Review delay reports and identify recurring issues. Hold supervisors accountable for crew performance. Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain employee files and training records. Assist in updating company policies and procedures. Ensure inspections, forms, and reports are completed accurately. Help prepare operational reports for upper management. Maintain compliance documentation. Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of management experience. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Experience hiring, coaching, and developing employees. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong conflict resolution skills. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace). Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record. Preferred Experience in construction, pavement maintenance, asphalt, striping, or related industries. OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Experience managing field crews. Knowledge of DOT and Cal/OSHA regulations.
