Job Description

Loan Operations Supervisor Bank of the Orient is an independent Asian Community Bank that has proudly served the financial needs of multiple Bay Area communities for over 55 years and Texas. We are committed to excellence in everything we do. We have openings for full-time Loan Operations Supervisor for our Loan Servicing Team. Under general supervision and within established policies and procedures performs a wide variety of duties supervising the servicing and operations of loans including: preparation of demands; processing payoffs; release of liens; booking new loans and renewals; posting payments and loan disbursements; completion of credit ratings; tracking, problem resolution; maintenance of loan/customer information; security of Bank retained collateral; tracking of financial statements; and other time-sensitive processes/documents; as needed, produces correspondence; responds to customer inquiries; and supervises the workload of the loan operations team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1.
Demonstrates quality customer service principles with internal and external customers consistently. 2. Supervises the activities of loan operations by responding to inquiries, resolving problems, assisting with complex transactions and sensitive customer relations problems, explaining policies and procedures to customers. 3. Assists in administering policies and procedures utilized in the department to ensure that department meets all compliance requirements. 4. Reviews loan documentation after closing for accuracy and completeness, disbursement of funds, input of new loans into the system, processing of incoming payments, and processing of all changes to borrowers accounts. 5. Maintains accurate accounting records on loan accounts, including balancing to the general ledger, and ensures that taxes, insurance, premiums, etc. are paid in a timely manner. 6. Prepares and compiles figures, forms and correspondence necessary to process loan payoffs. 7. Ensures that insurance coverage is maintained on all loan collateral and ensures follow-up on insurance cancellations and renews loan files to determine adequate insurance coverage in force. 8. Monitors the storage of loan documents, ensuring that loan papers are properly protected and that an efficient file maintenance system is maintained. 9. Prepares accurate and timely demands, beneficiary statements, reconveyances, releases of liens, UCC filings, and credit ratings. 10. Tracks loan commitments and corresponding balances, and reconciles transactions against the general ledger. 11. Responds to customer inquiries by researching, analyzing, and resolving issues in a timely manner. 12. Reviews all appropriate loan reports and provides all necessary audit trails and information on the appropriate report, daily. 13. As loans require bank retention of collateral (stock, CD's, etc.), ensures the security and maintenance of the collateral, including timely valuations, receipts, and releases. 14. Prepares loan documentation according to the appropriate policies and procedures and within the service indicators. 15. Closes all loans according to the appropriate guidelines and then boards completed loans to the appropriate system loan application, product set, and field criteria. 16. Assists the department managers in design, development, and implementation of department projects as they relate to loan documentation, loan conversions 17. Researches, analyzes and resolves complex customer service issues technical operation problems, and loan documentation questions as required. 18. Runs statistical reports to analyze the productivity standards and oversee customer files. 19. Coordinates work with loan officers and other bank personnel to satisfy customer needs and resolve customer inquiries. 20. Prepares operations and compliance reports in a timely and accurate manner as needed. 21. Manages daily activities of the Loan Operations Assistant assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive customer relations problems, explaining policies and procedures to customers. 22. Manages employee performance by conducting performance evaluations and monitoring performance and productivity of staff. 23. Actively participates in required Bank training satisfactorily and on time - i.e., customer service training, compliance training such as
BSA / AML
Training, computer training, etc. 24. Maintains strict control and confidentiality over all non-public customer information in accordance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, all applicable state regulations and the Bank's Customer Information Security Policy. 25. Abides by and ensures that the Bank's Compliance Programs, as well as other compliance and security banking laws, rules and regulations standards are met and required compliance reports are accurately filed - i.e., AML, BSA, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, SAR, KYC, et. al.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
1. Requires minimum 2 years college level courses. 2. Minimum 5 years' experience in loan documentation and servicing in a financial services industry. 3. Requires loan servicing experience with commercial and consumer real estate loans. 4. Requires computer experience with programs such as MS Word, Excel, Laser Pro etc.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and techniques. 2. Demonstrated ability to read and analyze financial data. 3. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 4. Ability to multitask and handle large volumes of work. 5. Good oral and written communication skills. 6. Well-developed customer relations skills. Pay:
$81,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
