Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, plan, organize, and direct the maintenance operations and driver training programs of the Transportation Department; supervise and evaluate the performance of the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, Bus Driver Instructors, and assigned staff; oversee the maintenance and repair of all district vehicles including buses, vans, and other district fleet vehicles; ensure compliance with all safety regulations and requirements; and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in business administration, transportation management, public administration, or a related field OR
Equivalent combination of specialized training and progressively responsible experience in transportation management, including a minimum of seven (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation operations.
Technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or transportation management; OR equivalent journeyman-level experience in heavy-duty diesel and school bus repair and maintenance
One (1) year in a lead or supervisory role
Valid Class B California Commercial Driver's License with passenger and school bus endorsements
California Special Driver Certificate
