Job Summary
Position Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of a business jet service center, ensuring aircraft maintenance projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards. This individual will lead and develop maintenance personnel while serving as the primary liaison between technicians, customers, and leadership to ensure exceptional service and operational excellence.
An FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is required for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of aircraft maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repair activities.
Lead teams of A&P Mechanics, Avionics Technicians, Interior Installers, Sheet Metal Mechanics, and other maintenance personnel.
Assign work based on technician qualifications, workload, and project priorities.
Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, company procedures, and customer specifications.
Monitor workflow, labor hours, and project schedules to ensure aircraft are delivered on time and within budget.
Coordinate with customers, Project Managers, Quality Control, Parts, and Planning departments regarding aircraft status and scheduling.
Conduct daily production meetings and provide updates on project progress.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and teamwork.
Coach, mentor, and develop technicians while conducting performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
Ensure proper documentation, logbook entries, and maintenance records are completed accurately.
Assist with troubleshooting complex maintenance issues and provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
Ensure proper utilization of manpower and resources to maximize efficiency.
Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards, company policies, and FAA regulations.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of maintenance personnel.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
Minimum of 7 years of business aviation maintenance experience.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.
Extensive knowledge of business jet aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
Strong understanding of FAA Part 145 regulations and maintenance documentation requirements.
Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, IPCs, and service bulletins.
Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends when required.
Preferred
Experience with Bombardier, Gulfstream, Falcon, Challenger, Learjet, Citation, or Embraer business aircraft.
Previous experience in a Part 145 Repair Station.
Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus.
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work from ladders, maintenance stands, and elevated platforms.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and typical aircraft hangar environments.
