About the Role Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, the Co-Operations Manager provides strategic leadership across several operational departments, including Billing, Compliance, Service, and Meter Reading. This role is responsible for strengthening operations, developing department managers, improving accountability, implementing scalable processes, and driving continuous improvement across the organization. This is a highly visible leadership position for someone who enjoys solving complex business challenges, building strong teams, and creating systems that allow people to perform at their best. Key Responsibilities As our Co-Operations Manager, you will: Lead, mentor, and develop department managers while fostering a positive, high-performing culture Establish operational standards, KPIs, reporting, and accountability systems Drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple operational departments Improve communication, efficiency, and collaboration throughout the organization Oversee cross-functional operational projects from planning through successful completion Identify operational risks and proactively implement solutions before they affect customers or business performance Analyze operational data and trends to support informed business decisions Coach employees through professional development and performance improvement Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and long-term organizational planning Promote a culture centered on teamwork, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of operational leadership experience Experience managing managers and multiple departments Demonstrated success building operational processes, reporting systems, and organizational structure Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience leading organizational change and process improvement initiatives Ability to prioritize multiple projects while making sound business decisions High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability Preferred Utility management, utility billing, submetering, or related industry experience Experience leading distributed or remote teams Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred but not required) What Success Looks Like In your first several months, you'll develop a deep understanding of each operational department, establish meaningful relationships with department leaders, and identify opportunities to improve performance and communication. As you become established in the role, you'll strengthen accountability, improve operational visibility, develop future leaders, and implement scalable systems that support the continued growth and success of National Exemption Service.
