Established Family-Owned Restaurant & Bar Group Lafayette, Indiana | Full-Time | $70,000-$90,000 + Performance Bonus We are a local family-owned hospitality group with four established, profitable bar and restaurant locations in the Lafayette area. Our businesses have grown — and we're ready for our management structure to grow with them. We are looking for an exceptional Multi-Unit Operations Manager who can learn our businesses from the inside out and eventually take ownership of day-to-day operations across all four locations. This is not a typical restaurant GM position, and we're not simply looking for someone to fill shifts. We're looking for an operator. Someone who can walk into a busy restaurant, see what isn't working, organize people, solve problems, hold managers accountable and create systems that make the entire operation stronger.
THE ROLE
You will work directly with ownership and our location managers to oversee and improve operations across four businesses. Over time, responsibilities will include: Leading and developing location managers Overseeing staffing, hiring, training and retention Improving scheduling and labor efficiency Creating consistent systems and operating procedures Monitoring food, beverage and labor costs Improving inventory and waste controls Coordinating vendors, repairs and maintenance Handling escalated employee and operational issues Ensuring cleanliness, service and operational standards Identifying problems before they become emergencies Helping each location operate successfully without constant owner involvement Providing ownership with clear, concise reporting on staffing, performance, problems and opportunities
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Your exact background matters less than your ability to lead and operate.
You may currently be a:
Restaurant General Manager Assistant GM ready for the next level Multi-unit restaurant manager Hospitality or food & beverage manager High-volume retail or service manager Experienced independent restaurant/bar operator The right person will be: Extremely dependable. People can count on you. Organized. You can manage multiple locations and priorities without losing track of details. Calm under pressure. When several things go wrong simultaneously, you prioritize instead of panic. A strong leader. You can earn people's respect, have difficult conversations and hold people accountable. Financially aware. You understand that labor, waste, inventory, purchasing and small operational decisions directly affect profitability. Resourceful. Your instinct when presented with a problem is to figure out how to solve it. Hands-on, but not stuck in a station. You'll learn every part of our businesses and jump in when truly necessary, but your primary job is to make the operation work — not become another bartender or cook. An owner-minded operator. You don't need to own the company to care about it like you do.
WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR
We're not looking for someone who needs an owner to make every decision. We're not looking for someone whose solution to every staffing problem is to personally cover the shift. We're not looking for someone who wants to sit in an office and manage through spreadsheets. And we're not expecting someone to walk in on Day 1 knowing four businesses that our family has spent years building.
HOW THIS WILL WORK
The successful candidate will initially spend significant time learning each location alongside ownership and existing managers. Responsibility and authority will increase as knowledge and trust are established. The long-term goal is for this person to become the primary operational leader across the group, with location managers reporting to them and ownership focusing on higher-level business decisions rather than routine daily problems.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time leadership position in the hospitality industry. A flexible schedule is required, including a combination of daytime, evening and some weekend presence. This is not intended to be a permanent 60-hour-per-week restaurant GM position. We want someone capable of building teams and systems that work — not someone we have to burn out to keep the businesses running.
COMPENSATION
$70,000-$90,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunity. Compensation for an exceptional candidate may be discussed based on experience and demonstrated multi-unit leadership ability.
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY IS DIFFERENT
These aren't struggling restaurants looking for someone to fix them. They're successful local businesses that have grown to the point where the owners recognize the need for another level of leadership. For the right person, this is an opportunity to have real influence, real authority and a long-term role helping shape what comes next for an established family-owned hospitality group.
