Radius Recycling is seeking an experienced Recycling Operations Manager to lead one of our most complex and dynamic operations yards in the Northeast. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple operational teams, driving safety and productivity, developing frontline leaders, and ensuring material moves efficiently through every stage of the recycling process. Why This Opportunity Stands Out This isn't a typical operations management role. You'll oversee a large, multi-function operation that includes material processing, heavy equipment operations, inventory management, shipping activities, rail coordination, and scale operations. You'll work alongside experienced leaders and gain exposure to virtually every aspect of a large-scale recycling business. What You'll Do Lead multiple operational departments and supervisors across the facility Develop, coach, and hold employees accountable for performance, safety, and productivity expectations Manage supervisors supporting day and evening operations Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements Monitor production performance, equipment utilization, staffing levels, and operational efficiency Partner closely with maintenance, transportation, commercial, and safety teams Manage budgets, forecasts, inventory levels, and operational planning Ensure material quality standards are maintained throughout the process Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, and profitability What We're Looking For We're looking for a hands-on operations leader with experience managing large industrial teams and equipment-intensive operations.
Ideal candidates may come from:
Scrap metal recycling Waste and recycling operations Marine terminals and port operations Bulk material handling Steel or metals manufacturing Construction materials, aggregate, asphalt, or cement operations Heavy industrial manufacturing Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of industrial, manufacturing, recycling, logistics, or related operations experience 2+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors and hourly employees Proven ability to hold teams accountable and drive results through frontline leadership Strong understanding of heavy equipment operations and equipment-intensive environments Experience managing multiple work groups and shifts Knowledge of production planning, inventory control, maintenance coordination, and safety programs Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills The Ideal Candidate You are a visible, approachable leader who enjoys being in the operation, building relationships with employees, and developing supervisors. You understand what it takes to create accountability while maintaining employee engagement. You're equally comfortable discussing production goals with senior leadership, coaching a supervisor through a performance issue, or walking the yard to identify opportunities to improve safety and efficiency.
