The Position We are looking for a driven, dependable, outgoing, and fun individual who is passionate about hospitality, craft beer, and creating great guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a full-service restaurant and be comfortable leading a team in a busy taproom environment. The Taproom / FOH Manager plays an important role in the day-to-day operation of Railtown. The taproom is the primary way many of our customers connect with our brand, and we know that happy guests talk to their friends. Whether someone is posted up at the bar enjoying a couple of beers or gathering with friends for dinner, the experience we provide is crucial to the success and growth of our business. This is an hourly management position paying $25/hour, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day taproom and front-of-house operations, including supervising staff, direct employee communication, training, and daily maintenance Conduct opening and closing procedures Lead by example and set the tone for staff work ethic, hospitality, and professionalism Uphold and enforce company policies, procedures, and service standards Work alongside the General Manager and Kitchen Manager to build a strong team culture and continually improve day-to-day operations Support staff wherever needed and be willing to step into any FOH role during busy periods Develop strong relationships with guests and provide outstanding customer service Handle customer concerns and complaints calmly, professionally, and with a solutions-oriented approach Maintain a hospitable, welcoming, and positive environment Oversee daily keg stocking, tap board changes, beer labels, menu updates, and communication of beer and product changes to staff Maintain accurate daily cash handling and balance procedures Oversee cleaning tasks and ensure daily and weekly cleaning lists are completed Complete weekly drain cleaning Maintain and organize merchandise displays and ensure merchandise is properly stocked Support basic kitchen operations and assist the kitchen during busy periods when needed Work with the General Manager on POS upkeep, maintenance, and updates Communicate effectively and in a timely manner through email and Trello Work with the management team to develop promotions, events, advertising ideas, and other ways to improve the taproom experience Help create and implement staff incentive programs and customer engagement initiatives Work with the General Manager to establish staff performance goals and participate in performance reviews Attend monthly management meetings Maintain knowledge of Railtown's beer, food, events, promotions, and overall brand Help ensure that the taproom consistently reflects Railtown's standards for hospitality, cleanliness, service, and quality What We're Looking For Previous full-service restaurant or hospitality experience; management or leadership experience preferred Passion for craft beer and willingness to continue learning about beer and our offerings Strong communication and leadership skills Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Positive attitude and ability to motivate and work well with a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to calmly handle stressful situations and guest concerns Able to multitask and make decisions while maintaining excellent guest service Comfortable working both independently and as part of a management team Experience with Square, social media, Mailchimp, or similar platforms is a plus Willingness to jump in wherever needed to support the team What We Offer $25/hour Full-time and part-time opportunities Team discounts Opportunities for growth and development A fun, welcoming, and team-oriented work environment Additional benefits and perks available for full-time employees Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, reach, stoop, and lift frequently Work shifts that may exceed 8 hours Lift 40+ pounds Change and move kegs If you're someone who loves hospitality, enjoys working with people, and wants to be part of a team that takes pride in great beer, great food, and great guest experiences, we'd love to hear from you!
