About the Opportunity The Village of Waynesfield is seeking a motivated, dependable, and community-minded individual to serve as Village Administrator. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with people, managing projects, solving problems, and helping a community run efficiently. The Administrator works closely with the Mayor, Village Council, employees, residents, contractors, consultants, and government agencies to coordinate Village operations and move important projects forward. - Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of Village departments and employees.
- Work with the Mayor and Village Council to carry out Village priorities, projects, policies, and long-range plans.
- Oversee public works, including streets, facilities, equipment, utilities, and municipal infrastructure.
- Coordinate maintenance, repair, construction, and improvement projects.
- Support the operation and regulatory compliance of the Village water and wastewater systems by working with qualified operators, staff, laboratories, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Supervise employees, coordinate schedules and training, and promote a safe and productive workplace.
- Assist with budgeting, purchasing, equipment planning, capital needs, and vendor coordination.
- Help identify and manage grants and community improvement projects.
- Coordinate contractors, engineers, consultants, and other professional service providers.
- Communicate with residents, businesses, community organizations, and governmental agencies.
- Attend Council and committee meetings and provide updates, research, and recommendations as needed. Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to maintain eligibility under the Village's insurance program.
- Relevant work experience showing responsibility, dependability, leadership, problem-solving, or operational knowledge.
- Strong communication, organization, and judgment.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and use common computer/business technology.
- Willingness to obtain training, licenses, or certifications required for assigned duties.
- Ability to respond to occasional after-hours operational needs. Preferred — Not Required to Apply
- Municipal government, public works, utilities, construction, maintenance, or public administration experience.
- Supervisory, management, or project-lead experience.
- College coursework or a degree in a related field.
- Water or wastewater operator certification.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or pesticide/applicator certification.
- Experience with Ohio EPA or other regulatory agencies.
- Experience with grants, budgets, purchasing, capital projects, contractors, engineers, or consultants.
- Knowledge of Ohio municipal operations, public records, ordinances, resolutions, or personnel procedures.
