Updated 04/2026 Job Description Job Summary Helicopter Transport Services is currently seeking experienced and qualified Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for our
SK64 / CH-54
series helicopters. We have immediate openings for part-time, full-time, and contract positions. If you have a passion for flying, experience in vertical reference operations, and have a diverse skill set with multi-type ratings, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Flight Operations:
Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for the
SK64 / CH-54
series helicopters. Perform vertical reference operations for Fire, construction, utility work, and other heavy-lift missions. Ensure flight operations meet safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Mission-Specific Work:
Conduct construction-related helicopter operations including lifting, transport, and placement of materials. Operate in various environments, including remote or challenging terrain. Handle tanked operations, including wildfire suppression support for the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) or similar organizations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with ground crews and other aviation team members to ensure mission success. Ensure effective communication with ground personnel for precise operations, especially in vertical reference and construction settings. Requirements
Helicopter Experience:
Extensive experience as a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of SK64 or CH-54 series helicopters. Vertical reference experience is essential. Multi-type rating preferred for flexibility and diverse operations.
Specialized Experience:
Previous experience with construction operations and heavy-lift missions. U.S. Forest Service (USFS) wildfire operations or tanked experience.
Licensing & Certification:
FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (Helicopter). TYPE Rating SK64 Current 2nd Class Medical. Ability to obtain or maintain required certifications for various operations.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
Strong focus on safety and attention to detail in all aspects of flight operations. Ability to perform under pressure and in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Ability to adapt to varied operational demands and environments.
