CalMal Vending Services is a fourth-generation, family-owned vending, micro-market, and office coffee company serving Northeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey and New York. We operate 1,100+ machines, 70+ micro-markets, and 15 service routes across 400+ customer locations, and we're growing. We are hiring an Operations Manager to run the day-to-day engine of the business — routes, drivers, warehouse, service, and product — so that every machine is full, working, and profitable. This is a hands-on leadership role.

You will own execution:

the routes go out on time, the warehouse is stocked and accurate, service calls get closed the same day, and the numbers get reviewed every morning. You'll report directly to the owner and work alongside a tenured team of route drivers, service technicians, and warehouse staff. What You'll Do Lead daily route operations across 15 service routes — scheduling, dispatch, coverage for call-offs and vacations, and route productivity. Supervise, coach, and hold accountable route drivers, service technicians, and warehouse staff (hiring, onboarding, training, performance, and safety).

Manage the warehouse:

receiving, inventory accuracy, par levels, product rotation, shrink control, and truck loading. Own service response — triage machine issues, dispatch techs, track open tickets, and drive same-day resolution on downed equipment. Monitor telemetry and cashless platforms (Seed Live, Cantaloupe, Avanti, Three Square Market) daily; use the data to reduce sold-outs, dead machines, and unnecessary stops. Review daily sales, route collections, and cash accountability; investigate variances and shortages. Coordinate new location installs, machine moves, pulls, and micro-market setups with sales and the customer. Manage vendor relationships and ordering with key suppliers (Vistar, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and others) and control product cost against budget. Maintain the fleet — preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, DOT compliance, and vehicle assignments. Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards across warehouse, trucks, and accounts. Serve as the escalation point for customer service issues at accounts; visit key accounts regularly. Report weekly to ownership on route performance, labor, product cost, service metrics, and staffing. What We're Looking For 2+ years of operations, route, distribution, or field-service management experience, with at least 2 years directly supervising drivers or technicians. Experience in vending, micro-markets, office coffee, DSD/route distribution, foodservice distribution, or a similar route-based business strongly preferred. Proven ability to run a multi-route operation: scheduling, coverage, productivity, and accountability. Comfortable with numbers — you can read a sales report, spot a shortage, and act on it. Working knowledge of inventory and warehouse management; purchasing experience a plus. Hands-on and available — this is not a desk job. Early mornings, and filling in on a route when needed are part of the role. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; able to lift 50 lbs regularly. Strong communication skills with employees, customers, and suppliers; calm under pressure. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning route-management and telemetry software. Nice to Have Experience with Cantaloupe (Seed), Avanti, Three Square Market, or similar vending/micro-market platforms. Mechanical aptitude with vending, coffee, or refrigeration equipment. ServSafe or food safety certification. Experience managing a small vehicle fleet. Schedule Full-time, on-site at our Olyphant, PA warehouse and office. Core hours are Monday through Friday with an early start (routes leave before 6:00 AM). Availability by phone for after-hours service escalations and occasional weekend coverage is required.

Pay:

$62,500.00 - $73,500.00 per year
