San Francisco, CA Job Details Part-time $20 - $24 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Plant identification Packing Attention to detail Full Job Description Bonsaify is looking for a reliable, efficient, and detail-oriented Packing & Shipping Associate to prepare and ship live plants and other products from our San Francisco location. Shipping live plants requires careful handling, accuracy, and the ability to identify and distinguish between closely related plant species and varieties. We're looking for someone who can learn our plants, follow established packing and shipping processes, work efficiently and independently, and ensure that the correct plant arrives safely at the correct customer. No previous bonsai experience is required, but experience working with live plants is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Accurately identify, differentiate, and label closely related plant species and varieties on a daily basis Pick and verify live plants and other products for customer orders Carefully prepare and pack live plants for shipment Match individually photographed plants and other one-of-a-kind items to the correct orders Inspect and prepare plants before packing to ensure they are ready for shipment Safely pack pottery, tools, and other products Select appropriate boxes and packing materials for each order Print, verify, and apply shipping labels Complete a final accuracy check before orders are shipped Maintain inventory or packing materials and shipping supplies Help receive, unpack, organize, and put away incoming shipments Assist with inventory counts and organization Identify damaged plants, inventory discrepancies, or order issues before shipment Clean and organize the packing and shipping workspace at the end of every shift Assist with other fulfillment and business tasks as needed Qualifications Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong plant identification skills and the ability to learn and reliably distinguish between similar species and cultivars Comfortable handling and shipping live plants Organized and able to consistently follow established packing and shipping procedures Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy Comfortable handling soil, pottery, plants, and fragile products Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical work Able to safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Comfortable using a computer and learning basic ecommerce and shipping systems Previous live plant, nursery, greenhouse, packing/shipping, ecommerce fulfillment, inventory, or similar experience is preferred Reliable transportation to our San Francisco location About Bonsaify Bonsaify is a family-owned bonsai nursery and ecommerce business based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We grow and develop plants for bonsai, create handmade pottery, teach bonsai classes, and ship live plants and supplies to customers throughout the United States. We're a small team, so we're looking for someone who is dependable, efficient, careful with our plants and products, and takes responsibility for leaving their workspace clean and organized at the end of every shift.
