Required to use electric pallet jack, or regular pallet jack to move material Interprets job cards/schedules and selects glass to transport to the lines via pallet jack Uses scan guns to update locations of glass within the facility Helps stock glass in warehouse, and receiving put away as necessary. Posts orders via scan gun Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the shift leader or production manager Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Competencies Communication proficiency Mindful of safety and quality procedures Attention to detail Self-starter with ability to work independently or in a group setting Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to non-tempered glass, which poses an increased risk of shattering. The employee is required to stand and/or walk for an average of eight (8) hours per day, and may be required to bend, stoop, or lean while performing normal job duties. This position may require regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. The employee must be able to work in a warm environment and should be highly conscious of safety. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with an average of 40 scheduled hours per week with the possibility of overtime as decided by a production manager. The scheduled hours for this position are dependent upon the desired shift. Travel No travel is required for this position. Required Education and Experience No required education or experience necessary Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, but not required Basic computer literacy preferred, but not required Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and scan gun preferred Ability to read a tape measure preferred, but not required Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) This position requires the employee to follow mandatory PPE guidelines. The employee is required to wear Kevlar sleeves and gloves, Z.87 rated safety glasses, and steel-toed footwear. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
