Job Overview Kingston Bread is seeking a dishwasher and bakery assistant to join our team at our production facility, located at 25 Barbarossa Lane in Kingston/Town of Ulster. In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of bakery equipment and dishes, assist with bread packaging, and maintain a safe and organized environment. This facility prepares bread and pastries six days a week for our restaurant (located on Broadway in midtown Kingston) and several dozen wholesale customers. Available shifts are four days a week, Thursday through Sunday, 7 am to 3 pm. Our preference is for one person to take all four of these shifts on a regular basis, but these shifts could be split between two people for the right candidates. Duties Using a three-bay sink, wash and dry all dishes and equipment used in the daily production of bread and pastries, including bus bins, mixing bowls, sheet trays, utensils, and more. Maintain cleanliness of bakery surfaces, floors, storage areas, and dish pit by performing routine cleaning and sanitation tasks Assist bakers with tasks including receiving and organizing supplies, packing bread, and keeping bakery equipment clean and well maintained. Support food safety management practices by following sanitation protocols and documenting cleaning schedules Qualifications Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or custodial environments is preferred but not required Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during cleaning or stock replenishment tasks Ability and willingness to perform physical and repetitive tasks (washing dishes for several hours a day) with speed and efficiency Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and food quality standards Good manual dexterity for handling knives and other kitchen tools safely Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting a busy bakery environment If you enjoy working with your hands and are interested in learning more about working in a bakery, we look forward to hearing from you!
