Northern Orchard is an apple wholesale grower, storer, packer, and shipper. Our factory provides apples to grocery stores nationwide. We are seeking candidates to work on our packing line grading and sorting apples in trays and bags for wholesale. This job involves attention to detail and a steady and often brisk pace of output. Candidates will be taught the grading standards for apples, including defect identification, sizing, presentation, and proper handling, and will be expected to meet industry standard. Candidates will work with a trainer and be subject to a two week training period at the end of which they will be expected to meet a production minimum of 65 boxes per day. Must be able to lift 40lbs comfortably, stand for the duration of the shift, and show understanding of concepts taught. Light cleaning work at the end of each day. No experience necessary. No jewelry, fake nails, or nail polish in a food handling facility. Head/facial hair coverings are required and provided.
