Hyland Lakes Spuds Position Summary We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our potato packing shed team. This position involves grading potatoes for quality, packing and stacking smaller packages, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting with the daily operations of the packing shed. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, works well with others, and is willing to help wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities Potato Grading:

Inspect and sort potatoes based on quality, size, appearance, and company standards. Remove damaged, defective, or unsuitable potatoes from the packing line.

Packing and Stacking:

Pack potatoes into designated bags, boxes, or other small packages. Stack finished packages neatly and safely for storage or shipment.

Product Quality:

Pay attention to the quality of potatoes being packed and notify a supervisor of any quality concerns or problems.

Cleaning and Sanitation:

Keep work areas, equipment, floors, and packing lines clean and organized throughout the workday.

Material Handling:

Move packaging supplies and finished products as needed, following safe lifting and handling practices.

General Shed Duties:

Assist with loading, unloading, organizing supplies, and other packing shed tasks as assigned.

Safety:

Follow all company safety procedures and use equipment properly.

Teamwork:

Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors to keep production running smoothly and efficiently.

Other Duties:

Perform additional tasks as needed to support the daily operations of the farm and packing shed. Qualifications and Requirements Dependable, punctual, and willing to work. Able to follow instructions and work independently when needed. Good attention to detail when grading and handling potatoes. Able to perform repetitive tasks in a production environment. Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical work, including lifting and stacking packages. Willing to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Previous farm, warehouse, or packing experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position involves working in a potato packing shed, where conditions may include dust, noise, cool temperatures, and moving machinery. The job requires standing, bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, and lifting or stacking packages throughout the shift. Appropriate safety procedures and protective equipment must be followed. Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
