Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent-Business Services, plan, organize, control, and direct operations and activities involved in the purchasing of District supplies, services, and equipment; coordinate and direct warehouse functions including the receipt, processing, storage, and distribution of various District goods; coordinate communications, bids, contracts, special projects, personnel, and the processing of purchasing and warehouse documents to meet District needs and ensure smooth and efficient activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. The incumbent in this classification assists in supporting students by providing leadership to the department to ensure the District is in legal compliance with all aspects of contracting and procurement; oversees all contracting and purchasing of services, supplies, materials, equipment, and construction; oversees District warehousing, delivery, and inventory processes which directly supports student learning. We're looking for someone who brings: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in public purchasing, contracting, warehousing, or related areas Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field (additional years of experience will count in lieu of education) Knowledge of procurement, contracts, bids, vendor relations, inventory, and warehouse operations Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills A commitment to compliance, fiscal responsibility, collaboration, and exceptional customer service The ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver timely, cost-effective solutions What it's Like to

The district is 66.3 square miles in size, and serves elementary students in grades K-8 feeding into the Grossmont Union High School District. The district has approximately 16,600 students, plus approximately 800 preschool students, with 26 schools (5 middle schools, 19 elementary schools, 1 preschool and 1 high school). The District is largely urban in nature with some rural areas. Regardless of what our employees' needs are, we meet them with the personalized attention only a caring school district can provide.
