INVENTORY AND PROCUREMENT MANAGER
Northeast Louisiana Utilities, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory and Procurement Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining an effective inventory management system for Northeast Louisiana Utilities' Monroe and West Monroe shops. This stand-alone position will organize existing inventory, implement the company's WASP inventory equipment and software, establish inventory controls, and maintain accurate records across both locations. After the inventory system is established, this position will develop and implement a formal purchase order and procurement process. The successful candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and capable of building practical systems and procedures from the ground up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management Evaluate current inventory, storage areas, workflows, and recordkeeping practices at both locations. Implement and maintain the company's WASP inventory software and barcode equipment. Complete required WASP training and coordinate training for other employees as needed. Establish standardized item descriptions, categories, numbering conventions, storage locations, reorder points, and units of measure. Develop procedures for receiving, labeling, storing, issuing, transferring, returning, and disposing of inventory. Organize inventory areas to improve accessibility, efficiency, and accountability. Maintain accurate records for materials, parts, tools, equipment, and supplies. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages and excess stock. Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic physical inventories. Research and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records. Track inventory transferred between the Monroe and West Monroe shops. Identify obsolete, damaged, slow-moving, or excess inventory and recommend appropriate action. Prepare inventory reports and communicate significant trends, shortages, or concerns to management. Develop and maintain written inventory policies, procedures, and internal controls. Procurement and Purchasing Develop and implement a formal purchase order process after the inventory system is established. Create purchasing procedures, approval workflows, documentation requirements, and internal controls. Coordinate purchases to ensure materials and supplies are available when needed. Obtain and compare vendor pricing, availability, delivery times, and purchasing terms. Prepare and process purchase orders according to company policies and approval requirements. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on late or incomplete deliveries. Verify that received items agree with purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor invoices. Maintain organized vendor, purchasing, and receiving records. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, consolidate purchases, and standardize commonly used items. Establish and maintain productive relationships with vendors and suppliers. Coordination and Administration Work closely with operations personnel, shop employees, accounting staff, and management. Train employees on inventory procedures, system use, and documentation requirements. Promote consistent compliance with inventory and purchasing procedures. Travel between the Monroe and West Monroe locations as needed. Perform other related duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
College degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, operations, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree. Minimum of five years of experience in inventory management, procurement, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related field. Experience implementing or significantly improving an inventory management system strongly preferred. Experience developing inventory controls, procedures, and purchasing workflows preferred. Experience in utilities, construction, distribution, or a similar operational environment is beneficial. Prior WASP inventory software experience is beneficial but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, receiving, and warehouse practices. Ability to evaluate current operations and develop effective systems from the ground up. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping ability. Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and manage projects through completion. Proficiency with inventory software, barcode equipment, Microsoft Excel, and standard business applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to train employees and encourage compliance with new procedures. Sound judgment and the ability to handle company information responsibly.
PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in both office and shop or warehouse environments. Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, and inspect inventory throughout the facilities. Ability to lift and move inventory items within reasonable workplace limits, with assistance or equipment when appropriate. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between locations.

$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
