TS/SCI Senior Procurement Lead
Job DescriptionInsight Global is looking for a Senior Procurement Lead to sit onsite in Aberdeen, MD. This individual will lead and scale a centralized procurement organization supporting high-volume, multimillion-dollar purchasing activity across rapidly growing Counter-UAS and defense programs. The Senior Procurement Lead will be responsible for overseeing procurement operations, driving FAR/DFARS-compliant acquisition strategies, managing subcontractor relationships, and ensuring material readiness across multiple mission areas. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution, including negotiating complex procurements, supporting revenue forecasting, and streamlining purchasing processes to meet demanding program timelines. The ideal candidate is a proven procurement leader with deep DoD acquisition experience who can effectively collaborate with government stakeholders, program leadership, and technical teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a centralized procurement team, providing guidance, training, and operational oversight
Manage high-volume procurement activities, including sourcing, purchasing, negotiations, and subcontract administration
Draft, review, negotiate, and complex procurement packages and subcontract agreements
Ensure strict compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company procurement policies
Partner with program managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to support mission requirements and acquisition strategies
Oversee procurement-driven revenue forecasting and material receipt tracking to support accurate revenue recognition
Monitor material readiness and supplier performance to prevent supply chain disruptions
Develop and improve procurement workflows, systems, and processes to support organizational growth
Resolve procurement challenges and drive timely acquisition of critical materials and services
Provide procurement status updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
$45/hr to $60/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Acquisition Management, or a related field
10+ years of DoD or federal procurement/acquisition experience
Experience leading and developing procurement teams in a high-volume, high-dollar-value environment
Advanced knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal contracting regulations
Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and executing complex procurement packages and subcontracts
Experience building, scaling, or improving procurement functions and purchasing operations
Experience with procurement-driven revenue forecasting and material receipt tracking
Strong communication skills with experience interfacing directly with government customers, program leadership, and technical stakeholders
Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance.
Experience supporting Counter-UAS, defense technology, or other rapidly growing DoD mission areas
Experience scaling or optimizing a centralized procurement organization
Familiarity with multi-theater logistics, material planning, and supply chain operations
Advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain, Acquisition Management, or related field
Professional certifications such as DAWIA, CPCM, CFCM, NCMA, or equivalent acquisition/procurement credentials
Experience supporting large-scale defense programs with multimillion-dollar procurement portfolios
Strong background in supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing initiatives.
