Full-Time Position Summary Walton Process Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Manager to lead the company's purchasing, receiving, inventory, and supporting logistics functions. This position is responsible for managing all company procurement activities while ensuring materials are purchased competitively, received accurately, organized efficiently, and available to support manufacturing and service operations. As a small, growing manufacturer of industrial process equipment—including autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and industrial ovens—the Purchasing & Inventory Manager will play a highly visible role within the organization. The successful candidate will be hands-on, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The primary responsibility of this position is purchasing and procurement. In addition, the individual will oversee receiving activities, assist with inventory organization, and support logistics and shipping as needed. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Procurement Manage all purchasing activities for the company. Review bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and job requirements to identify required materials and components. Prepare and issue purchase orders using QuickBooks. Obtain quotations from multiple vendors and suppliers. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to achieve the best overall value for the company. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while actively identifying and qualifying new suppliers. Monitor material availability and proactively address potential supply chain issues. Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery. Enter and maintain customer jobs and purchasing information in QuickBooks. Receiving & Inventory Oversee and actively participate in the receiving department. Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips. Coordinate inspection and proper storage of received materials. Maintain an organized receiving and inventory area. Work closely with production and project management to ensure materials are available when needed. Assist with inventory accuracy and organization. Logistics & Shipping Support inbound and outbound logistics as needed. Coordinate freight carriers and shipments of materials and equipment. Assist with packaging, shipping documentation, and scheduling pickups. Work with vendors and carriers to resolve shipping or delivery issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 10 years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience , preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience purchasing raw materials such as: Pipe Structural steel Plate Sheet metal OR experience purchasing industrial electrical components such as: PLCs Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Circuit breakers Contactors Industrial control components Manufacturing procurement experience is strongly preferred. Proficiency with QuickBooks , including creating purchase orders and entering customer jobs. Ability to read and understand bills of materials and basic engineering or design drawings. Experience obtaining competitive quotes from multiple vendors and negotiating pricing and delivery. Familiarity with receiving, inventory management, freight, and logistics. Physical Requirements Ability to work in both an office and manufacturing environment. Occasionally lift or move boxes and materials weighing up to 30 pounds .
