OLD FT. LOWELL
…
NEW INFORMATION
…OFLLAH Seeking Program Coordinator Old Fort Lowell Live at Home Program, Inc. (OFLLAH) is a 30-year-old 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects neighborhood volunteers with older adults who need occasional assistance to continue living safely and independently in their own homes. The OFLLAH service area includes more than 2,300 residences between Swan Road (west) and Wilmot Road (east), and Grant Road (south) and the Rillito River (north). It is preferred that the Program Coordinator lives inside or near these borders. We are especially interested in candidates with professional experience in healthcare, social services, social work, nursing, counseling, senior services or another field involving direct work with older adults. A retired or former social worker, nurse, healthcare professional or similar professional may be an excellent fit for this position. The Program Coordinator is the heart of OFLLAH…responding to requests for transportation, well-check calls, shopping assistance and other neighbor-to-neighbor support. Responsibilities include interviewing and registering clients; making initial and annual home visits, as well as additional visits when needed; assessing client needs; recruiting, vetting and managing volunteers; entering client requests into our online system; matching clients with volunteers; managing OFLLAH's medical equipment bank; maintaining records and the website; and preparing reports for and attending monthly Board of Directors meetings. This is a paid, part-time position of approximately 30 hours per week with annual compensation of $38,000. No healthcare benefits are provided…payroll taxes and program liability insurance are covered. Much of the work can be managed remotely, although regular interaction with clients and volunteers in the neighborhood is an important part of the position. The Coordinator will fill in when a volunteer driver/visitor is not available. Candidates must own a reliable vehicle and be willing to transport clients when necessary. We are seeking someone who is compassionate, dependable, extremely well organized, self-motivated and comfortable working independently. The successful candidate will communicate easily and respectfully with older adults, families and volunteers and will have basic computer skills. Experience working with older adults and a background in healthcare or social services will receive strong preference. Qualified applicants are invited to email a statement of no more than 100 words explaining their interest in the position and the experience or qualifications they would bring. A resume may be attached. Questions are welcome. Prefer applicants who live close enough to provide a service to a client on short notice.
