Program Lead - Music Education CREATE Merced- createmerced.com We are seeking a passionate, dynamic Program Lead for Music Education to help lead and grow our after-school choir programs across multiple school sites. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, loves working with young performers of all experience levels, and believes in the power of music to build confidence, connection, and joy. Position Overview The Program Lead will facilitate and direct on-site after-school choir programs at up to four campuses, while also supporting and guiding a team of support teachers. This role blends music direction, team leadership, and program facilitation to create a meaningful and high-quality experience for students and families. Key Responsibilities Implement a provided curriculum, working closely with the Executive Director on repertoire selection and overall artistic direction Lead a team of support teachers, fostering consistency and excellence across campuses Collaborate with the accompanist to ensure strong musical execution and student support Direct and facilitate after-school choir programs at up to four school sites Coordinate performance opportunities, including showcases and community events Work alongside the On-Site Coordinator to communicate effectively with parents and school administrations Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for students of all experience levels Support students in developing vocal technique, musicality, and performance confidence Required Experience & Qualifications Experience in music education, choral direction, or vocal instruction Experience working with children in an educational or arts-based setting Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team (or readiness to step into a leadership role) Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites and responsibilities Ability to work collaboratively within an established curriculum and program structure Experience preparing students for performances, showcases, or public presentations What We Value We believe music education is about more than just singing—it's about building confidence, fostering community, and creating spaces where students feel seen, supported, and inspired. Pay:
$80.00 - $125.00 per hour
