$24.00-$35.00/hour (W-2 Employee) Compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, leadership, and demonstrated success teaching young children while growing recreation or enrichment programs. Help Build Programs That Change Lives JMM Dance Co. is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Recreation Program Specialist to help lead and grow our community recreation programs serving children ages 8 months through 10 years old . This is not an entry-level instructor position. We're looking for a professional who already understands how to successfully teach young children, build relationships with families, increase enrollment, and represent an organization within the community. About JMM Dance Co. JMM Dance Co. is a nonprofit organization providing recreation, creative movement, dance, and social-emotional learning programs throughout schools, community centers, parks, and community organizations. Our mission is to create engaging recreation experiences that help children develop confidence, coordination, emotional wellness, healthy relationships, and a lifelong love of movement. Position Summary The Early Childhood Recreation Program Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional recreation classes while helping grow JMM Dance Co.'s presence within the communities we serve. This role combines teaching, family engagement, enrollment support, community outreach, program development, and relationship building. Successful candidates are highly organized, dependable, personable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Primary ResponsibilitiesRecreation Program Instruction Teach engaging recreation-based movement and dance classes for children ages 8 months-10 years Lead Parent & Me, toddler, preschool, and elementary recreation classes Deliver high-quality instruction that keeps children engaged and families returning Maintain safe, organized, developmentally appropriate classroom environments Program Planning Prepare weekly lesson plans Organize class materials and music Set up and break down classrooms Track attendance and student progress Prepare seasonal performances and showcases Enrollment & Family Experience Welcome prospective families Assist with student enrollment and registration Build positive relationships with parents Support student retention and class growth Encourage participation in additional JMM programs Community Outreach Represent JMM Dance Co. at community events, open houses, resource fairs, and festivals Assist with outreach initiatives that increase enrollment Build relationships with schools, preschools, and community partners Help expand programs throughout Gilroy and Morgan Hill Fundraising & Sponsorship Support Assist with fundraising initiatives Secure raffle prizes and sponsorships from local businesses Represent the organization professionally within the community Support community engagement activities Required Qualifications We're looking for someone who can contribute immediately.
Qualified applicants should have:
Minimum 2 years teaching young children in recreation, dance, gymnastics, preschool enrichment, PE, or similar programs Strong understanding of child development for ages 8 months-10 years Excellent classroom management skills Experience creating lesson plans and leading structured recreation programs Experience communicating professionally with parents and caregivers Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between multiple locations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Child Development, Dance, Kinesiology, or a related field Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience growing recreation or enrichment programs Experience with enrollment, customer service, or family engagement Community outreach or event experience Fundraising or sponsorship experience CPR/First Aid Certification Who Will Thrive Here We're looking for someone who: Takes ownership of their work Is dependable and professional Builds strong relationships with families Enjoys working in the community Can manage multiple responsibilities Represents JMM Dance Co. with enthusiasm and integrity Wants to help grow programs—not simply teach classes Schedule Part-Time Approximately 10-15 hours per week Hours may include: Weekday mornings Afternoons Early evenings Saturdays Community events Summer camps Why Join JMM Dance Co.?
