Organization Overview The Napa Valley COAD develops and enhances partnerships for communication, coordination, and collaboration across the whole community—including non-profits, faith-based organizations, government agencies, and the private sector. Our mission is to support the community in preparing for and recovering from disasters. Position Summary Under the oversight of the Executive Director, the Bilingual Program Coordinator is a highly motivated self-starter who independently leads key programs including Disaster Preparedness, Community Outreach, and functional response Committee work. You will be a vital partner in our Community Connections program. By working closely with the Program Manager, you will help our Community Connectors weave life-saving disaster preparedness into their daily interactions with the community, ensuring no one is left behind. Core Responsibilities 1.
Committee Leadership & Administrative Support Manage Response Committees:
Independently lead and support COAD's nine (09) Response Committees and collaboration groups to ensure emergency readiness. In activations coordinate meetings, communications and the liaison between the committees and the EOS Liaison.
Executive Support:
Provide direct administrative and project-based support to the Executive Director (ED) as needed, including drafting correspondence, managing specialized files, inventory and assisting with organizational reporting.
Meeting Coordination:
Plan, schedule, and lead COAD Co-Lead committee meetings; support the ED in conducting General Membership meetings.
Administrative Oversight:
Set agendas, prepare meeting materials, take detailed notes, and proactively follow up on critical action items. 2.
Disaster Preparedness & Community Outreach Flexible Schedule:
This role requires evening and weekend availability to accommodate community needs and workshops.
Bilingual Workshop Facilitation:
Lead and conduct "Meet Your Neighbor" (MYN), "Renters Insurance" (RI), "Until Help Arrives" (UHA) and Hand Only CPR workshops fluently in both English and Spanish.
County-Wide Engagement:
Travel throughout Napa County to represent COAD at community events and conduct in-person outreach, training and workshops. Updating and distributing targeted campaigns and COAD newsletter.
Strategic Outreach:
Develop an annual outreach plan to bring resources to vulnerable communities, particularly those with limited English proficiency.
Community Liaisons:
Build and maintain a network of community liaisons to expand the reach of COAD workshop programs.
Community Connections:
Actively participate in and support Community Connections programming and staff, ensuring it remains a robust resource for all Napa County. 3.
Technical Coordination & Digital Presence Website Management:
Maintain and update the COAD website using WordPress, ensuring agendas and resources are current.
Social Media & Branding:
Manage English and Spanish presence on Facebook and Instagram using Meta Business Suite; develop materials and respond to community inquiries.
Content Creation:
Utilize Canva, Publicate, or similar platforms to design bilingual flyers, graphics, and outreach materials.
Project Research:
Conduct research to support after-action reporting, identifying gaps and identifying community resources.
Pay:
$25.00 - $26.44 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
