Senior Manager of Youth Engagement Position Summary Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position supports the mission of the organization by building youth leadership and advising opportunities, overseeing in-school education efforts, and developing pro-social events for middle school through young adult populations. This position works closely with young people, ensuring a youth-led, adult supported framework in all initiatives.

Participate in regular one-on-one, team and committee meetings to align different efforts and resources across the organization Represent Mountain Youth through collaborative projects as needed Maintain Mountain Youth internal database and tracking systems with contact, client and program information in a timely manner Support with other Mountain Youth projects, newsletter and communication strategies, and events as needed Support in fundraising efforts and sustainability strategies to maintain the work of the overall organization Maintain positive staff and board relations Provide youth-influenced content for marketing and social media platforms Perform general office duties and other duties as assigned This position will oversee the following areas of
Youth Engagement:
Valley's Voice Youth Leadership Program- Through Valley's Voice, young people in the community can leverage their voice and make impactful change. Youth and young adults identify key issues and lead projects and processes as catalysts for change. Leadership development, education, and community engagement with collaborative partners are critical components to Valley's Voice. This position will grow the existing youth-led framework engaging middle and high school students through meetings, events, and additional community efforts. This position will oversee the ongoing development and coordination of Valley's Voice while supporting program facilitators. MOYA Young Adult Efforts- MOYA aims to support young adults in the Eagle River Valley by offering connection opportunities between young adults and resources. The Senior Manager of Youth Engagement will support the MOYA team through event creation, partner collaboration, and 18-25-year-old recruitment to the program. Helping guide members of the MOYA team, this role will be responsible for ensuring diverse partner engagement, event genres and locations; in addition to organizing and documenting logistics. Youth Health and Education- This role oversees student skills-building and education via school-based life skills, social-emotional, and substance use prevention learning opportunities. The Senior Manager facilitates relationships with school partners and program facilitators to deliver school-based programs. School-based programs including life skills, substance use prevention, young driver safety education and additional prevention curricula with elementary, middle, and high school youth in Eagle County. This role will be trained in all curricula and deliver in-school education when needed. Pro-Social Opportunities- In partnership with young people, ages middle school through young adult, and community organizations, this position will identify events, activities and spaces that offer safe and healthy opportunities. Through a youth-led model, this position will facilitate growing events and activities that support the healthy development of young people. Position Responsibilities Strategic planning and oversight for all youth engagement efforts in Mountain Youth Oversee development of programs goals, objectives, and inclusion in strategic plans and work plans Supervise program leaders including Middle School Specialist, High School Specialist and MOYA Coordinator Oversee implementation of student education and support, both in and out of schools. This may include life skills and prevention skills programs in schools and Prime for Life for referred students. Coordinate with the school district and BE Partners a prevention education plan, selecting and ensuring curricula align with coordinated services across schools and grade levels Understand and model the Positive Youth Development (PYD) principles, and serve as a PYD trainer Supervise, coach and support youth advisors, youth liaisons, young adult ambassadors, coordinator and the youth engagement specialists using various techniques that build their leadership and facilitation skills. Co-facilitate Valley's Voice and MOYA meetings and events as needed Work with Mountain Youth staff to ensure youth engagement on various communication platforms Work with teammates and community partners on cross-referrals of youth and families Support with safe driving strategies Build relationships with community partners to expand opportunities available to youth ages 9-25, and young adults Participate in various community collaborative spaces, serving as an organizational liaison Facilitate processes to change youth behaviors in a positive manner (ex- social norms processes) Support youth and young adult behavior data collection and dissemination, ensuring youth leadership through all phases of the process Oversee implementation of evidence-based programs and processes to fidelity, ensure completion of program evaluation requirements, and provide coaching and feedback to inform quality improvement processes Support completion of evaluation and grant reports, as well as funding application action plan and budget components, with program information in partnership with
Director of Strategic Impact Additional Qualifications:
Interest in and commitment to positive youth, family and community development, as well as overall community health and safety. Bilingual English/ Spanish language speaking and bicultural preferred, with additional compensation available for bilingual candidates. Experience working with youth in secondary education, community building, and youth development preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and training. Ability to commit to a flexible schedule, including weeknight and weekend commitments, when youth are most available for out-of-school programs. Must prioritize youth availability for scheduling meetings which are often evenings and weekends. Ability to thrive independently as part of a dynamic team focused on youth development Ability to build rapport with diverse groups of young people High level of professionalism Strong classroom management and group facilitation skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent listening skills, and ability to extract and synthesize key themes Strong meeting facilitation skills, addressing diverse viewpoints and bringing groups to consensus Innovative and creative; ability to be flexible and adaptable based on youth priorities and needs Commitment to a youth-led model that ensures youth are leading efforts of the programs and organization Comfort in community settings with diverse partners and stakeholders Excellent organization and planning skills, with attention to detail. To best collaborate with youth, program leads, and partners, the use of project management skills will be encouraged. Strong computer skills including Microsoft office programs, Google platforms and social media Willingness to travel throughout the Eagle River Valley for meetings, programs, and events, and travel throughout the region and state for meetings, trainings, and conferences.
Salary and Benefits:
This salaried position is full-time, averaging 40 hours per week. Routine evening and weekend work commitments will be expected. This position is based out of Eagle County. The salary range is $60,000-$75,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
