Job Description

Program Coordinator Kidds & Co. | Early Childhood Education About the Role Kidds & Co. is seeking a proactive, organized, and passionate Program Coordinator to support our teachers, strengthen classroom programming, and help oversee the daily needs of our early childhood education center. The Program Coordinator serves as an important bridge between classroom staff and administration, helping ensure teachers feel supported, communication stays consistent, and classroom needs are addressed in a timely manner. This individual will work closely with teachers and leadership to identify challenges, find solutions, maintain consistency across classrooms, and create a positive environment for both children and staff. This is primarily a hands-on, classroom-based position, not an office job. While some administrative responsibilities are part of the role, the majority of the work takes place in classrooms, working directly with teachers and children. The ideal candidate enjoys being actively involved in the daily classroom environment, building relationships with staff, and providing practical support where it is needed most. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates effectively, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about helping teachers grow and succeed. Key Responsibilities Teacher Support & Communication Serve as a liaison between classroom staff and administration, helping communicate needs, concerns, updates, and expectations in both directions. Build positive, trusting relationships with teachers and provide consistent, approachable support throughout the day. Listen to staff feedback, help identify challenges, and collaborate with administration to develop practical solutions. Support teachers with classroom management, daily routines, behavior guidance, and classroom organization. Help promote consistency in policies, procedures, and expectations across classrooms. Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and supporting new team members. Classroom Programming & Professional Development Spend the majority of the workday in classrooms supporting teachers and engaging in the daily classroom environment. Observe classroom practices and identify opportunities to strengthen teaching strategies, classroom routines, and program quality. Support the development and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences. Help coordinate continuing education, professional development opportunities, and ongoing teacher growth. Provide teachers with resources, ideas, and guidance to support child development and positive classroom experiences. Help ensure classrooms maintain safe, nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environments. Staffing & Daily Operations Assist with identifying classroom staffing needs and helping coordinate coverage to support daily operations. Work collaboratively with administration to address staffing challenges and maintain classroom consistency. Help coordinate classroom supply needs, place orders, and ensure teachers have the materials necessary for their classrooms. Assist with organizing classroom resources and supporting the practical needs of each age group. Step into classrooms when needed to provide hands-on support and help maintain safe and effective operations. Program Quality & Compliance Help maintain consistent health, safety, and supervision practices throughout the center. Support implementation of center policies and applicable Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) licensing requirements. Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with teachers and administration to strengthen program quality. Complete limited administrative tasks related to staffing, supplies, professional development, and program coordination as needed. Qualifications Experience working in an early childhood education or childcare setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both teachers and administration. Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate practices. Ability to provide constructive feedback and support teachers in a positive, respectful way. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to take initiative, work independently, and adapt to changing classroom needs. Comfortable working directly in classrooms with children of varying ages. Previous leadership, mentoring, or staff support experience is preferred. Familiarity with Connecticut OEC licensing requirements is a plus. Relevant early childhood education credentials or professional development experience are preferred. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that a strong childcare program starts with supported teachers. The right candidate is approachable, dependable, flexible, and comfortable balancing the needs of staff, children, and administration. This person should be willing to listen, communicate openly, take initiative, and follow through on concerns rather than simply passing them along. They should enjoy being present in classrooms, helping teachers navigate challenges, sharing ideas, and finding ways to make each day run more smoothly. At Kidds & Co., we believe in teamwork, consistency, and creating an environment where both children and educators can thrive. We are looking for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the everyday experience of our staff and the quality of care we provide. If you are passionate about early childhood education, enjoy supporting other educators, and want to take an active role in strengthening a childcare program, we would love to hear from you!
