Job Description

A Program Support Assistant located in the Housing and Urban Development-VA Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program with the VA Homeless Program located at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. The purpose of this position is to perform administrative and program analysis work and ensure program compliance of Veterans in the
HUD/VASH
Program. The
HUD-VASH
Program is a subgroup under the Homeless Program under the office of Social Work Service.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/16/2026. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing clerical or administrative support in an office, healthcare, hospitality, or residential support environment; maintaining records, logs, or automated databases by entering, tracking, and retrieving information; assisting with the scheduling, coordination, or tracking of programs or services, resources, or program activities; preparing or reviewing routine correspondence and reports to ensure accuracy, proper format, and completeness; providing customer service and responding to inquiries from diverse populations; and following established policies, procedures, and safety or sanitation guidelines. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
