Proteus Inc. provides agricultural workers and their families with affordable health care, education assistance, and job training. We are currently seeking a Program Specialist to join our Kokomo team . This role is essential in promoting and delivering services to farmworker communities through outreach, education, and direct support. 1. Responsible for program delivery that may include the following activities: a. Assists in the recruitment of potential clients through community outreach. b. Conducts educational presentations to targeted populations (e.g. Heat Stress, Pesticide, LEAF, and Rent/Smart/Housing). c. Develops and maintains linkages with community and human service linkage resources and vendors. d. Provides supportive services for Proteus participants. e. Provides interpretation for Proteus participants. 2. Tracks program participant information using electronic software. 3. Serves as Proteus representative on selected community committees and reports to Regional Director regarding these meetings. 4. Assists the Regional Office team in the overall development and attainment of goals for funded programs. 5. Support program staff in the delivery of program services 6. Provides administrative support to the office directly connected to supporting clientele. 7. Completes required reports on a weekly, monthly basis as required by the Supervisor or funding source. 8. Performs public speaking to smaller and larger audiences in both Spanish and English. 9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualified Candidates Should Have:

• Associates degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One-year experience in education and outreach, public relations, or related field.
• Experience working with farmworker populations highly desirable.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Must show a strong customer service orientation in conjunction with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding public speaking skills with empathy and a passion to serve others.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other software.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and minimum car insurance as required by state law
• Ability to travel for job purposes across assigned territory or across the state as needed Proteus provides communities with health, educational and economic opportunities.
