POSITION SUMMARY
The Campbell County Detention Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Facilitator to provide structured behavioral health, recovery, and cognitive behavioral educational programming to male and female incarcerated individuals. The position will facilitate evidence-informed programs, assist participants with recovery and reentry planning, and coordinate appropriate information with courts, Probation and Parole, specialty courts, and community resources. Hours may extend beyond normal business hours, on call may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate cognitive behavioral, addiction, recovery, emotional wellness, life-skills, and reentry programs for small and large groups. Assist participants in identifying recovery goals, strengths, needs, risk factors, and potential barriers to successful recovery and reentry. Provide education regarding addiction, recovery, co-occurring disorders, emotional wellness, decision-making, life skills, relapse prevention, and community resources. Maintain accurate and timely attendance records, progress reports, case documentation, and compliance records. Recognize concerns requiring referral to qualified medical or behavioral-health professionals. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards. Work cooperatively with detention staff, behavioral-health personnel, courts, probation and parole, treatment providers, and community agencies. Follow all Detention Center security policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Participate in training, program evaluation, quality improvement, and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Addiction Studies, Rehabilitation Counseling, Behavioral Science, or a closely related field. Relevant experience in behavioral health, substance-use treatment, recovery services, cognitive behavioral programming, peer support, case management, reentry, corrections, specialty courts, or group facilitation may be considered in combination with education and/or professional credentials.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates possessing one or more of the following: NCAC I
National Certified Addiction Counselor CADC
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor NCPRSS
National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) CCDP
Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional CCJP
Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional
LCADC/LADC
Alcohol and Drug Counselor credential LPC/LCSW/LMSW or another applicable behavioral-health license Other nationally or state-recognized behavioral health, addiction, recovery, or peer-support certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of addiction, recovery, behavioral health, and cognitive behavioral concepts; strong written and verbal communication skills; effective group-facilitation abilities; sound judgment; organizational skills; and the ability to establish rapport while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. The candidate must be proficient in Office Suite products.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of required background and security screening, facility orientation, and training is required. The employee must be capable of working effectively in a secure correctional environment and maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. This position does not independently provide clinical diagnosis, psychotherapy, medical treatment, or other services requiring professional licensure.
