DIRECTOR OF ABI
Cooperative Production has 31 residential homes and 5 Day Programs. Our 24/7 supervised residential programs focus on a person-centered planning approach and working with individuals to create homes adapted to meet individual needs. We provide support in life skills, social skills, and community integration, emphasizing pursuing personal goals and interests. Each day, our staff provides guidance, support, and direction as needed on new skills and tasks, behavior management, personal development, social skills, and communication. They take pride in assisting individuals in achieving goals by maintaining knowledge of their learning styles, strengths, and support needs, and ensuring that skills are taught accordingly.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Director of ABI provides leadership and administrative oversight for Cooperative Production's ABI residential services and other assigned residential programs supporting individuals with brain injuries and other disabilities. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the Director is responsible for effective program administration, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, staff supervision, operational systems, and coordination with families, state agencies, community partners, and other service providers.
The Director promotes high-quality, person-centered services consistent with Cooperative Production's mission, philosophy, policies, and commitment to Life Quality. This position identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, monitors program performance, supports corrective action and continuous improvement, and ensures that services protect individual dignity, choice, independence, safety, rights, and community participation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of three years of management experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injury strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Must agree to use a personal vehicle for business purposes as required by the position.
Must successfully complete an acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and fingerprint check.
Must successfully complete an acceptable screening against the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (OIG-LEIE).
Must provide documentation of a recent tuberculosis (TB) screening and maintain updated TB screening documentation every two years.
Must have the physical capability to perform required direct-service responsibilities, including assisting with transfers of adults to and from wheelchairs or other adaptive equipment and providing direct intervention when required.
Must understand the responsibilities of the position, maintain the knowledge and skills required to perform them, and remain current through training and application of new skills and information.
Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to identify and address responsibilities without requiring direction for routine matters.
Must follow agency policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality.
Must maintain a positive and professional manner in interactions with individuals served, staff, families, guardians, state agencies, providers, employers, associates, and community members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversee the administration and operation of ABI residences and other assigned residential programs serving individuals with disabilities.
Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer in the administration, coordination, and oversight of agency residential services.
Monitor programs for compliance with applicable regulatory, licensing, accreditation, funding-source, and agency requirements.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory standards, requirements, and trends affecting service quality and program operations.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with agency philosophy, policies, procedures, performance expectations, and applicable funding-source regulations.
Assist the Chief Operating Officer and other senior managers with developing, implementing, monitoring, and improving operational practices, policies, procedures, systems, and administrative functions.
Coordinate services across programs and support consistent implementation of agency requirements.
Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent communication of relevant information to DDS personnel, parents, guardians, service providers, and other appropriate parties.
Serve as a liaison among Cooperative Production's ABI services, DDS, MRC, and other service providers.
Represent Cooperative Production professionally and positively in interactions with families, employers, associates, community members, state agencies, providers, and other stakeholders.
Support agency public relations efforts as assigned.
Ensure that assigned staff communicate professionally and represent Cooperative Production appropriately in all work-related interactions.
Staff Supervision and Performance
Supervise assigned staff and ensure staff receive appropriate training, direction, support, and corrective feedback.
Monitor staff compliance with agency policies, established work schedules, program plans, and assigned responsibilities.
Implement disciplinary procedures when necessary, with assistance from the Chief Operating Officer or designee as appropriate.
Implement agency staff evaluation policies and procedures and complete required performance evaluation activities.
Establish specific, scheduled opportunities to provide staff with feedback, coaching, and support.
Monitor employee electronic payroll timecards and address discrepancies or concerns as required.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
Oversee periodic internal and external evaluations of service quality and compliance with established performance expectations.
Promote quality services through consistent application and enforcement of agency policies, procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist the Chief Operating Officer with establishing and maintaining quality standards based on regulatory requirements and appropriate service practices.
Develop and support methods for collecting data and performance metrics used to evaluate program quality and the effectiveness of agency systems.
In coordination with the Chief Operating Officer, conduct root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities related to service quality, identify contributing issues, recommend solutions, and support corrective actions and process improvements.
Develop and implement internal quality-assurance audit systems in coordination with the Chief Operating Officer.
Serve as a resource for identifying service-quality concerns, resolving problems, and supporting continuous quality improvement.
Assist in developing or improving systems for service delivery, quality monitoring, and data collection as needed.
Ensure fire drills and safety plans meet DDS requirements.
Coordinate with DRS/DSS to complete, update, and submit EESPs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Maintain and improve systems used to track referrals, intakes, transfers, and discharges.
Maintain systems for reviewing and tracking resident financial records and assist with financial audits as required.
Ensure procedures and safeguards are in place for the appropriate administration and protection of program and resident finances.
Monitor HCSIS Alerts and Process Management requirements, ensure regulatory compliance, and ensure required agency follow-up is completed.
Person-Centered Support and Advocacy
Perform all participant-assistance responsibilities in a dignified and supportive manner that protects each person's identity, dignity, and self-esteem.
Advocate as necessary for the legal, civil, and human rights of individuals served.
Promote access to community participation, social opportunities, employment, recreation, and other meaningful activities.
Evaluate the appropriateness of community placements and opportunities related to employment, recreation, and social participation.
Identify opportunities to develop natural supports with the goal of promoting independence and reducing unnecessary reliance on paid staff supervision.
Assist staff in supporting individuals whenever necessary, including providing direct service when program needs require it.
Provide support consistent with individual behavioral programs when an individual demonstrates aggressive or self-injurious behavior and direct intervention is required.
Report information concerning alleged mistreatment of an individual served to the Disabled Person Protection Commission, regardless of how the information was obtained, in accordance with mandated reporting requirements. The DPPC hotline number is 1-800-426-9009.
Complete other related responsibilities assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work assignments and schedules may change based on the needs of individuals or groups receiving services.
The position requires the ability to perform direct-service responsibilities when necessary.
Required physical assistance may include transferring adults to and from wheelchairs or other adaptive equipment.
The position may require direct intervention when supporting individuals who demonstrate aggressive or self-injurious behavior. Intervention must be performed in accordance with applicable behavioral programs, agency procedures, and training requirements.
The position is considered safety sensitive.
An alcohol and/or drug test is required following an at-fault accident or when there is reasonable suspicion of alcohol or drug use.
Business travel may be required, and the employee must maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to use a personal vehicle for business purposes.
The employee must maintain all required screenings, clearances, and medical documentation throughout employment, including required TB screening updates.
