The Hockomock Area YMCA's Foxboro Invensys Branch is looking for a friendly, dependable Teen Center Monitor to help create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for teens ages 10-17. This role offers the opportunity to build relationships, serve as a positive role model, and help plan engaging activities and events. The position is 6-8 hours per week during afternoon or evening hours. Essential Functions Supervise daily activities and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Actively participate in activities, projects, and events. Serve as a mentor by offering homework help, guidance, and a listening ear. Encourage friendships, inclusion, and positive interactions among teens. Recognize teens' positive choices and communicate accomplishments to parents and guardians. Enforce rules and boundaries fairly while helping teens learn from challenging situations. Assist with planning and leading on-site and off-site activities and events. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized Teen Center. Collaborate with directors and colleagues to address concerns and support program success. Must be 21 years of age or older Experience working with youth Ability to maintain a consistent positive attitude and personality that lends itself to the interpretation and communication of the YMCA goals and mission. Ability to make quick, sound decisions to solve immediate problems as they arise Effective communication skills in order to communicate with teens, parents and community members concerning the teen center, its missions, activities, and programs
