They develop, modify, and ensure currency of curriculum and course syllabi. Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication and feedback, assessment of student learning, regular office hours, etc. They are active members of the college community and attend department meetings as required. RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach subject matter as assigned by the department, including Michigan firefighter I and II curriculum in the Fire Academy. Develop, update, and refine discipline courses and programs. Develop course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes and participate in assessment of student learning. Assess student academic achievement. Develop and maintain course materials in the College's Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcements, syllabus, and gradebook. Refine curriculum and pedagogy to reflect current evidence-based practices. Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines. Engage in recruiting and mentorship of adjunct faculty. Provide feedback on instruction of adjunct faculty as assigned. Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Academic and Workforce Education to meet accreditation standards. Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College's accrediting agencies. Hold office hours per collective bargaining agreement and needs of the department. Assist in identifying and facilitating student clinical experiences, if applicable. Identify teaching and lab materials for assigned courses, if applicable. Actively participate on area and college committees and perform related duties and activities necessary to conduct the work of the area. Oversee and ensure ongoing compliance with Fire Science program accreditation standards, policies, and reporting requirements. Other duties as assigned in compliance with the MCCFO collective bargaining agreement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Coordinator Providing students and fire academy cadets with academic guidance on course selection and transfer pathways. Proposing new courses; ensuring the continuous enhancement and alignment of curriculum and course syllabi within the Learning Management System. Reporting on metrics and overseeing the completion of the Program Review process. Identifying and securing essential teaching and laboratory resources to support program learning outcomes and accreditation requirements. Initiating and maintaining articulation agreements with universities. Actively engaging in community boards and committees to strengthen academic and professional partnerships. In collaboration with the Fire Academy Director, is responsible for updating the Fire Academy Outcomes and Objectives within the official course syllabi, to ensure consistency with accreditation requirements as outlined by the Michigan Firefighters Training Division and the Michigan Firefighters Training Council. Education A bachelor's degree or higher in fire science, emergency management or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of firefighting related experience. OR A bachelor's degree in any field and a minimum of 10 years of firefighting related experience. State of Michigan Fire Instructor I Certification required. Fire Instructor II Certification preferred.
