ABEA Schedule B-2 position Being a Link Crew sponsor in a high school is a crucial role that involves supporting the Link Crew program, which is typically focused on assisting freshmen as they transition into high school.
Job Summary:
The Link Crew Sponsor serves as the primary facilitator and organizer of the Link Crew program at Anchor Bay High School.
This role involves overseeing the training and activities of Link Crew leaders, who are upperclassmen responsible for mentoring and supporting incoming freshmen. The Link Crew Sponsor works closely with school administrators, teachers, and students to ensure the success of the program and the smooth transition of freshmen into high school life.
Responsibilities:
1.
Program Coordination:
Oversee all aspects of the Link Crew program, including recruitment, training, and ongoing support for Link Crew leaders.
Develop a comprehensive plan for freshman orientation and transition activities in collaboration with school leadership and Link Crew leaders.
Coordinate meetings, training sessions, and events for Link Crew leaders throughout the school year.

Training and Development:
Design and implement training sessions for Link Crew leaders to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to mentor freshmen effectively.
Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to Link Crew leaders as they fulfill their mentoring roles.
Foster a sense of teamwork, leadership, and responsibility among Link Crew leaders.

Freshman Support:
Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and administrators to identify incoming freshmen who may benefit from additional support and mentorship.
Assign Link Crew leaders to mentor individual freshmen or small groups, providing academic and social support as needed.
Monitor the progress and well-being of freshmen throughout the school year and intervene when necessary to address any issues or concerns.
4.
Program Evaluation:
Collect feedback from Link Crew leaders, freshmen, and other stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
Use data and feedback to make improvements and adjustments to the Link Crew program as needed.
Prepare reports on the impact and outcomes of the Link Crew program for school administrators and stakeholders.
5.
Promotion and Outreach:
Promote the Link Crew program to incoming freshmen and their families through orientation events, school publications, and other communication channels.
Collaborate with school administrators and other staff members to integrate the Link Crew program into broader initiatives aimed at supporting student success and well-being.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field (preferred).
Experience working with high school students in a mentoring or leadership capacity.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Organizational and administrative skills to manage program logistics and activities.
Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and supporting student success.
