Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Director of Program Management will partner directly with the CEO to ensure execution of customer programs and strategic internal initiatives. Acting as a central coordinator across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Sales, this role ensures projects remain on scope, on budget, and on schedule, while driving accountability and improving communication across the organization. Success requires strong business acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to align teams around company objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Project Managers as assigned. Currently there is one dedicated Project Manager.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily work of the department.
  • Provides constructive feedback and timely performance evaluations, manages individual development plans of direct reports.
  • Manages coaching and discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Serves as the primary point of contact for key customers, ensuring contract compliance, contract documentation, negotiated contract modifications, negotiated changes to SOW, and clear communication. Establishes and maintains program schedules. Drives execution of assigned programs, ensuring alignment of Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, Sales, and external stakeholders. Reports program performance, risk and opportunities to senior leadership. Sets program priorities, manages escalations, and oversees multiple concurrent programs. Standardize and continuously improve project management processes, including phase-gate reviews, reporting templates, and lessons-learned practices. Proactively identify risks in schedule, cost, technical performance, and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal design/NPD teams to align resources and deliverables with program requirements. Is key member of program reviews such as PDR, CDR, qualifications, testing, and documentation efforts. Mentor engineers and project managers to raise the professional standards and best practices inherent in developing new programs/products with customers. Utilizes customer-facing role and professional relationships to help position ERG for follow-on awards and other opportunities with customers. The Dir. Program Management will stand up a new aerospace facility in Reno NV. ERG Aerospace has acquired a new building which requires updating and would like the Dir Program Management to lead work with Contractors to plan the preparation of the facility to accept equipment and work transfers from other ERG work sites as we consolidate footprint in the new facility. Initially, this will take the majority of the Dir. PM attention but will taper off in 2027, allowing more focus on Pratt & Whitney GTF and other on-going programs. Other duties as may be assigned.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Strong business acumen, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to influence with, or without, direct authority. Financial literacy, with the ability to model cost/revenue drivers and forecast program performance. Experience managing contracts, change-orders, and negotiations with stakeholders. Solid understanding of supply chain, operations, engineering, and quality systems. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management in fast-paced environments. Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional team coordination in manufacturing settings. Experience and ability to establish self as a respected mentor. Ability to Travel as required between sites and customer locations.
    Education and Work Experience:
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field required. MBA is preferred. Minimum 7 years of program/project management experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility. Aerospace industry experience preferred.
    Physical/Mental Demands Physical Demands:
    The essential functions of the position may require frequent sitting, listening, speaking, and repetitive use of both hands, occasional walking, standing and traveling; seldom reaching overhead, bending over, lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs.
    Mental Demands:
    The essential functions of the position require the ability to read and write complex material, perform simple and complex math calculations, and decision-making for simple and complex tasks; perform clerical functions, compile and analyze information and data; coordinate activities, supervise and instruct others; follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements, memorization, problem solving through use of independent judgment and decision making skills.
    Working Conditions:
    The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate and the employee usually works in a climate-controlled office environment. Work may entail the use of computer equipment. The employee works alone, with others, around others, with verbal and face-to-face contact. Ability to work a flexible schedule, sometimes including weekends and evenings as needed to successfully respond to urgent customer requirements.
