Job Description

The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to "Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line." WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. The WPAOG seeks an Annual Giving Officer to support WPAOG's fundraising efforts for the Superintendent's Annual Fund, Long Gray Line Fund, and other annual purposes. This position reports directly to the Director of Annual Giving. The Annual Giving Officer plays a key role in WPAOG's annual giving efforts, focusing primarily on engaging and soliciting donors who contribute approx. $1,000-$5,000 annually. The Officer is responsible for maintaining a high volume of outreach, managing giving opportunities with donors through prospect plans and opportunities, and implementing targeted strategies to retain, upgrade, and steward donors. The incumbent also works toward specified goals for both cash and pledges, primarily for annual purposes. Strong organizational and analytical abilities, time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The incumbent must be goal-oriented and enjoy a competitive but collaborative and collegial environment. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of fundraising strategies, particularly in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of mid-level and high-level donors, though relevant and transferable skills in a related field will also be considered. A bachelor's degree is required. Three years' experience in fundraising and familiarity with USMA and the Army is strongly preferred. This is a collaborative, hands-on leadership role requiring a four-day in-office/one-day remote schedule at West Point. Candidates must live within commuting distance. We offer excellent benefits and a pleasant working environment. The salary range for this role is approximately $70,000 -$75,000 depending on skills and experience. Please submit cover letter, resume and up to three (3) letters of reference. To apply, visit https://www.westpointaog.org/employment.
