Job Description

Young Mens Christian Association of Central Ohio is hiring a Early Learning Center Program Coordinator in Bellefontaine, OH. This is a full-time position. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions. Functions as the director or other supervisory staff in his/her absence. Assists with scheduling of staff; discusses the selection of substitute coverage with the center director. Advises and assists substitutes as needed. Oversees the design and delivery of curriculum. Reviews and approves teachers lesson plans. Meets regularly with the center director; Keeps the center director updated on all issues affecting the operation of the center (i.e. issues with parents, staff, children). Assists in the interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, and evaluation of teaching staff; and with facilitating communication, special events, retreats and staff meetings. Promotes communication with prospective & current center parents by: scheduling and conducting tours; giving parent / teacher conferences; planning / implementing special events, maintaining wait list. Ensures compliance with administrative standards by maintaining childrens folders and distributing updates about center/children to staff and collecting data for funding and projects. Assists in ensuring the center's compliance with all YMCA guidelines, ODJFS licensing, SUTQ and grant requirements. Oversees the communication with families ensuring that it is frequent and includes multiple methods. Enters required data for children. Performs clerical duties and front desk duties as needed. Attends all required meetings and training sessions. Completes duties as required by the Child and Adult Care Food program. Works assigned shifts to ensure center supervisory coverage, including opening and/or closing shifts.
