Job Description

Prevention Awareness Support Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time staff position working in the Darke County areas to facilitate evidence-based prevention programming for responsible fatherhood. This position will be responsible for Marketing, Coordinating, Scheduling and Facilitating the programming. Some evenings and weekends may be required. All staff are trained to become certified in the State of Ohio as a Prevention Specialist. Applicants should be tech savvy. A minimum of an Associates Degree required (Bachelor's Degree preferred) in human services, social work, education, psychology or related field. An Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation are required. The selected candidate will be required to submit fingerprints for a background check, pass a drug screen, and submit official college transcripts. Non-Exempt Position Summary The Prevention Educator is responsible for facilitating evidence-based and evidence-informed prevention programs for responsible fatherhood in a community setting throughout the designated service area.

•This position is grant funded and continuation of this position, from year-to-year, is contingent on funding availability. Key Responsibilities Deliver prevention education programs with fidelity, ensuring alignment with evidence-based standards and targeted outcomes. Schedule, coordinate, and promote programming. If not currently certified, enroll as a Registered Applicant with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and actively work toward earning the Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist (OCPS) credential. Complete and maintain certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid. Maintain accurate records and program documentation, and submit required reporting information in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or PASS Administration.

Qualifications Education:

Associate degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience & Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Confident and skilled in delivering presentations to both large and small audiences. Able to work independently. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn. Experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds. High ethical standards and understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Slides, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Competent in using the internet and basic computer applications.

Additional Requirements:

Valid Ohio driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation. Clear FBI and BCI background checks. Clear urine drug screen. Willingness and ability to model healthy behaviors related to substance use and mental health. Willingness to travel within the agency's service area.

Physical & ADA Requirements:

Ability to stand for up to two hours at a time. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and stretching. Must be able to transport and set up materials and equipment for program delivery.

Pay:

$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
