JCBDD Support Contractor (Independent Contractor) Ohio Valley Youth Network (OVYN) / Sycamore Youth Center Steubenville, OH Contract | $20.00 per hour | Up to 750 hours | Flexible Schedule ________________________________________ Make a Difference in the Lives of Children The Ohio Valley Youth Network (OVYN) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and organized Independent Contractors to provide inclusive support services for children with developmental disabilities participating in our after-school, summer, and community enrichment programs. Working through a Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities (JCBDD)-supported initiative, this contract position helps children participate successfully in educational, recreational, life-skills, leadership, and community activities while promoting inclusion, independence, and meaningful engagement. The position focuses on supporting JCBDD-eligible participants through approved grant activities and maintaining accurate documentation to support grant compliance and reimbursement. ________________________________________ Responsibilities Support children with developmental disabilities in inclusive group activities. Assist with life-skills, recreation, leadership, vocational, and educational programming. Encourage participant independence, communication, and social development. Collaborate with volunteers, instructors, families, schools, and community partners. Maintain accurate attendance, participant, and service documentation. Complete required reports and invoices in a timely manner. Follow all OVYN Child Protection, Adult Access, confidentiality, and safety policies. Promptly report safety concerns, incidents, or suspected abuse through established procedures. Help ensure grant compliance and responsible stewardship of program resources. ________________________________________ Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. At least 18 years of age. Experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, education, recreation, youth programs, or human services preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain accurate documentation. Ability to work independently while collaborating with program staff. Successful completion of required background screening. Reliable transportation. ________________________________________ Compensation $20.00 per hour Independent Contractor (1099) Up to 750 contract hours Monthly invoicing No guaranteed minimum hours Services are contingent upon grant funding and program needs. ________________________________________ Why Join OVYN?
