MAT Program Specialist - Advanced Level Join the team at SCI Laurel Highlands and help individuals build stronger, healthier pathways to successful reentry. We are seeking an experienced MAT Program Specialist to coordinate treatment services, connect reentrants with community resources, and provide social work, counseling, and case-management support within the Department of Corrections.

Advanced-Level Opportunity The successful candidate can perform the responsibilities associated with this role independently and without assistance. This individual is recognized within their immediate organization as a trusted resource when difficult questions arise concerning MAT services, counseling, social work, and case management. Key Responsibilities Communicate with the SCI MAT Program Specialist when reentrants experience an overdose in the community and return to an SCI for detoxification, helping determine their eligibility and appropriateness for MAT. Assist with community MAT referrals, including arranging and scheduling medication and treatment appointments. Ensure that individuals receive the services and benefits identified in their treatment plans. Track and update spreadsheets or databases for individuals released from an SCI while receiving MAT. Attend the weekly Vivitrol conference call and other required meetings. Document all contacts in the appropriate systems, including CAPTOR and Sapphire. Attend all required training sessions. Meet with reentrants who have positive urine drug screens to assess their needs and refer them for treatment. Complete required Government Performance and Results Act assessments, including initial, six-month, and discharge assessments. Meet with reentrants at SCIs, Bureau of Community Corrections facilities, parole offices, and treatment-provider locations as necessary. Communicate treatment plans to center, SCI, and parole staff. Follow the Department of Corrections' MAT and alcohol-and-other-drug treatment framework, policies, and procedures. Provide social work, counseling, and case-management services that enhance social functioning and help individuals achieve more satisfactory social, economic, and physical adjustment. Perform all duties in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor. Assess offenders' psychosocial strengths, challenges, service needs, and eligibility for available programs. Counsel individuals using appropriate treatment approaches. Discuss assigned individuals' psychosocial assessments and family histories during multidisciplinary treatment-team meetings. Minimum Qualification A bachelor's degree in social work or a human-services field is required.
