Do you have a passion for supporting small businesses and strengthening local communities? The Business Assistance Coordinator is an exciting opportunity to help aspiring and existing small business owners navigate resources, connect with the right partners, and access opportunities that can help their businesses succeed. This grant-funded position combines community outreach, relationship building, event coordination, and program support—with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. What You'll Do As the Business Assistance Coordinator, you will serve as a key connection between small businesses and the organizations, programs, and resources available to help them succeed.
You will:
Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, educational institutions, and business resource providers. Connect entrepreneurs and business owners with programs, services, and resources that meet their needs. Lead outreach and community engagement to increase awareness of available business assistance. Coordinate workshops, trainings, and educational events that provide valuable information and tools to local businesses. Support the microgrant process, including reviewing applications according to established program guidelines. Assist with grant administration, including program records, data collection, reporting, and compliance documentation. Represent the program throughout the Northern Tier, attending meetings, events, and community activities across the five-county service area. Help identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships and expand support for the region's small-business community. Perform other duties that contribute to the success of the program. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, building partnerships, and managing multiple projects while working independently.
Preferred skills and abilities include:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Why This Opportunity?
