Primary Purpose:
The 21st Century ACE program is a grant funded after school program designed to align with school day activities to improve academic performance, school day attendance, promote positive behavior, increase graduation and promotion rates, and provide college and career readiness. The ACE 21st Century Project Director will oversee all aspects of the development, implementation and management of the LWISD Texas ACE Program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Development & Family Studies, Social Work, or related field Knowledge of after school or youth programs Experience in working with youth in an education, group, or camp setting Experience in working with at-risk populations Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to demonstrate proficiency in computer and technology skills Possess a valid Texas Driver's License and have reliable transportation Ability to pass a fingerprint based background check under TEA regulations - paid at own expense.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education or Related Field Three years' experience in an educational and/or social work setting Supervisory experience of small to medium teams Experience in fiscal/budget management, data reporting and management information systems Demonstrated competence in program development, marketing, implementation and evaluation.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices in afterschool programming. Familiarity with data collection and basic analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Specific skills and knowledge related to the chosen focus area (e.g., health education principles, community engagement strategies, curriculum development for specific age groups, etc.).
Other Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting. Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for travel to school sites. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) may be preferred depending on the community served.

Area of Focus:
Articulate the LWISD Texas ACE program to all stakeholders Coordinate the LWISD Texas ACE program implementation at each center with the Site Coordinator and appropriate staff. Develop and implement marketing & recruiting strategies for all centers. Create, publish and implement effective procedures and policies to ensure an effective afterschool program. Present opportunities to provide students a broad array of academic and enrichment programs and services that reinforce and complement the regular school day. Offer parents/families and students' opportunities to engage in Family Engagement Activities. Prepare and provide reports as required while maintaining appropriate compliance and data activities. Attend all required LWISD and Texas ACE trainings, webinars, meetings and conferences Supervise Site Coordinators and Program Staff as required, Perform other job related duties as assigned. Accepts assignment as a member of a campus PERC committee, if requested, and shares accountability for identified progress as specified in the TAPR standards. Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Deputy Superintendent.
Position Funding:
This is a 5-year grant funded position. There is no guarantee for future employment beyond the completion of the grant after the 2030-2031 school year.

Travel:
This position will also require both traveling within the district and state wide.
Schedule :
This position will require a flexible schedule, after hours and altered schedules will be required.

Repetitive hand motions including reaching. Frequent keyboarding and use of mouse.
Lifting:
Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment:
Reception desk in the administrative/central office

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEC and policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory, ability to be effective in both oral and written communication.
