Job Description

Orleans Central Supervisory Union (OCSU) is seeking a self-directed, talented, and

collaborative individual to serve as the Program Director for its 21st Century Community

Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant. The 21st CCLC program provides academic enrichment,

recreational, and enrichment opportunities for students in grades K-8 during after-school hours

and throughout the summer. The Program Director will provide leadership and oversight for

program operations, staff, budget, evaluation, community partnerships, grant compliance, and

long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate will be an organized and creative leader who enjoys

working with students, families, educators, community partners, and school administrators.

Experience in grant management, administrative management, or directing similar educational or

youth programs is strongly preferred.

Program Leadership and Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of OCSU's after-school and summer programs,
    including academic, enrichment, and recreational activities.
  • Provide oversight of programs serving students in grades K-8 across participating sites.
  • Work closely with Site Coordinators, teachers, students, families, and school principals to
    develop engaging and meaningful program schedules.
  • Ensure programming meets the needs of students and families while aligning with 21st
    CCLC grant goals and requirements.
  • Monitor program participation, daily attendance, and other required program data.
  • Lead monthly meetings with Site Coordinators and provide ongoing support, guidance,
    and professional leadership.
    Staff Recruitment and Support
  • Recruit, supervise, and support program staff.
  • Work collaboratively with coordinators and staff to strengthen the quality of learning and
    enrichment experiences provided to students.
  • Support staff in developing engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate programming.
  • Review, edit, revise, and approve payroll submissions from Site Coordinators.
    Grant Management, Budget, and Compliance
  • Oversee the 21st CCLC program budget and approve expenditures in accordance with
    OCSU policies and grant requirements.
  • Review procurement documentation and create, monitor, and close purchase orders.
  • Complete and submit required state and federal reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain required grant documentation and ensure compliance with applicable state and
    federal requirements.
  • Utilize the Grants Management System (GMS) for grant continuation applications, new
    grant applications, amendments, and other required grant activities.
  • Monitor grant expenditures and program activities to ensure alignment with approved
    grant plans and budgets.
    Program Evaluation and Data Management
  • Develop and implement formal and informal program evaluation processes.
  • Collect, analyze, and monitor program participation, attendance, outcome, and evaluation
    data.
  • Use data to identify program strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for
    growth.
  • Prepare annual reports and other required program reports.
  • Share program data and outcomes with OCSU leadership and the School Board as
    appropriate.
    Community Partnerships and Program Advocacy
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with community organizations,
    businesses, educators, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement an advocacy and communications plan to promote the program
    and highlight its successes.
  • Build awareness of program opportunities and outcomes within the school community
    and broader community.
    Sustainability and Fund Development
  • Develop and implement a long-term sustainability plan for the program.
  • Identify opportunities to secure additional funding and resources.
  • Support grant development, funding applications, partnerships, and other activities that
    contribute to the long-term sustainability of after-school and summer programming.
  • Monitor progress toward sustainability goals and follow through on identified funding
    opportunities.
    Professional Development and Collaboration
  • Participate in state and regional meetings, conferences, trainings, workshops, and other
    professional development activities related to 21st CCLC programming and extended
    learning opportunities.
  • Stay informed about applicable grant requirements, best practices, and emerging
    opportunities in after-school and summer learning.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Superintendent, Business Manager, Director of Instruction,
    Grants Coordinator, Site Coordinators, principals, and other OCSU staff.
  • Provide regular updates regarding program operations, participation, outcomes, funding,
    and other relevant matters.
  • Attend and/or provide reports at School Board meetings as needed.

Salary starting at $52,000

The Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting three K-4 elementary schools, three 5-8 middle schools, the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program, and Lake Region Union High School.
