Job Description

Position Description:
Executive Director Main Street Arts (MSA) is seeking a dedicated and creative individual to fill the role of Executive Director. This position presents an exciting opportunity to drive program development, foster teaching artist leadership, and contribute to the organizational vitality of MSA. The ED provides comprehensive oversight of all organizational functions, including programs, administration, finance, and external relations. This role serves as the primary public representative of Main Street Arts, building relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community to advance the organization's visibility, impact, and long-term sustainability. Research, design, and implement new programs Bolster ongoing programming in the areas of music, theater, community events, movement, and creative aging by ensuring consistent programming schedules, fees, policies and procedures Build relationships with community organizations and partners to foster collaboration Interview and contract with teaching artists to lead programs Maintain a teaching artist roster with consistent core practices Serve as the principal spokesperson and representative for Main Street Arts Provide course descriptions for the website, newsletters, and other media, to the MSA's communications and office manager, and assist with proofing publications Track program attendance, evaluations, finances, and information Work to implement MSA's mission and assure that programs and policies align with the strategic plan. Keep the board informed of conditions, opportunities, issues and challenges to the organization Attend board meetings and relevant committee meetings provide other reports as requested Oversee the communications and office manager and contracted staff including, bookkeeper, donor database manager, and development associate Oversee operations and follow up with tasks delegated to the other staff Collaborate with the Office Manager to coordinate volunteer(s) to monitor and administer the maintenance of the building and run events Keep a consistent schedule of work hours so MSA can be open to the public Collaborate with the Development Associate and the board on fundraising including major gifts, grants, sponsorships, special events, and annual giving campaigns Oversee budgeting and financial planning; ensure sound financial practices and compliance with nonprofit standards Lead weekly finance meeting to ensure correct categorization of funds The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Leadership and Vision:
Demonstrated nonprofit leadership experience in developing and implementing programs.
Program Development Expertise:
Proven ability to research, design, and implement successful programs.
Grant Writing/Fundraising:
Strong grant writing skills with a track record of securing financial support for programs.
Community Engagement:
Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with community organizations and partners.
Teaching Artist Leadership:
Experience in interviewing, contracting, and leading teaching artists.
Artistic Proficiency:
While not required, the option to be a teaching artist is considered an asset. Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in an artistic discipline, with the ability to offer engaging classes.
Organizational Skills:
Strong administrative skills, including course description creation, documentation, and financial tracking.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey program details and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Accountability and Reporting:
Demonstrated accountability in reporting program outcomes and impacts to the Board. Passion for

Genuine passion for community engagement and a deep appreciation for the role of the arts in fostering community connections.

Hours:
25 hours/week
Hourly Rate:
$28-$32/hr
Salary :
$36,400-$41,600/year
