Job Description

About us La Mesa Rehab is an outpatient healthcare clinic, proudly serving the community. Dr. Tami is a very busy CEO and entrepreneur. We are looking for someone to support Dr. Tami in managing and coordinating multiple ongoing projects. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, takes initiative, thinks critically, and is eager to contribute to the growth of a healthcare organization. Start here Dr. Tami Peavy has more good ideas in a week than she has hours to chase them. Some examples of duties Dr.
Tami needs help with include:
Researching a piece of equipment for the clinic Ensuring a staff outing event runs smoothly Conducting outreach to build relationships with referring doctors Ensuring that we do not miss an employee's anniversary or birthday Without proper support, most of these tasks die on a list. This job exists to stop that. You take an idea, ask the questions that turn it into something real, and carry it all the way to completion. Then you come back and tell her what you would do next. How you work matters more than your resume You are the kind of person who cannot leave a thing half done. Crossing an item off gives you a small and slightly embarrassing amount of satisfaction. You notice when something is off before anyone tells you. When work lands on your desk with no explanation, your instinct is to get clarification rather than just doing it. You can manage several unrelated projects simultaneously. You follow up on things without having to be reminded. And you would honestly rather make someone else's job easier than run your own show. Not out of any lack of ambition. Because it is the thing you are good at, and you know it. A real Tuesday Morning. You are researching strategies and marketing ideas to encourage patients who complete their program to stay connected with La Mesa Rehab and return for additional services in the future. You use high level thinking and look for creative solutions. Maybe that means developing a strategy to generate more Google reviews or finding new ways to keep former patients engaged. By 11:00 AM, you have researched the options, developed a recommendation, and can explain your thinking to Dr. Tami in a few clear sentences. Midday. You drive to the party store to buy balloons and gifts for the holiday party on Saturday. On the way, you notice a new doctor's office that recently opened nearby. Nobody asked you to stop, but you recognize an opportunity. You introduce yourself, learn more about the practice, share information about La Mesa Rehab, and make a connection with the staff. When you return to the clinic, you update Dr. Tami on what you learned and whether you think the relationship is worth pursuing. Afternoon. The clinic needs an electrician and a carpenter. You research local vendors, contact several companies, gather quotes, compare pricing and availability, and organize the information. You do not simply hand Dr. Tami three quotes. You give her a clear summary and tell her which option you recommend and why. Late afternoon. You draft a social media post recognizing a patient who successfully completed their program and schedule it for Friday. Then you review our recent social media activity. You look at what is working, research which platforms are most likely to reach our patient population, and identify what we should do differently. At the end of the month, you turn that information into a simple report with results and recommendations for Dr. Tami. That is the job. Some of it requires critical thinking, research, initiative, and judgment. Some of it is running errands like buying balloons. The person who succeeds here understands that both matter and approaches both with the same sense of ownership. What it is actually for We are a private outpatient healthcare clinic. People come to us to improve their quality of life, walk without assistance, climb a flight of stairs without becoming short of breath, and get back to doing the things that matter to them. You would not be responsible for treating patients, but the work you do would directly support the growth and success of the organization. Who will be unhappy here Someone who lacks initiative or needs their hand held through every task will not be happy here. If you want to build and lead a team, this is not that role. Nobody reports to you. Instead, you will work closely with the CEO as her right hand person. If handling small details, gathering quotes, following up with vendors, or occasionally running errands feels beneath you, this role will not be a good fit. We would rather be clear about that now than have you discover it a month into the job. If you are primarily looking for remote work, this will not be a good fit either. We tried remote work, and it did not meet the needs of this role. If working in the office five days a week is a dealbreaker, be honest with yourself before you apply. What we need Two or more years of experience coordinating projects, operations, or office work Someone with initiative and the ability to think at a high level Experience with a project management tool. We use Basecamp You use AI at work. Not just asking it questions, but giving it enough context that it saves you real time. If you have gotten it to do something genuinely complicated, lead with that A valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Roughly two days a week, you would be out visiting physician offices. Mileage is reimbursed.
Helpful but not required:
a medical or healthcare office background, experience running social or paid campaigns and reporting on the results, or event coordination Pay $23 to $25 an hour, depending on experience. We are moving into a bigger space this fall. There is real room to grow here, and not only within this role. Hours Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM, with an occasional Saturday as needed. How this goes You apply. If it looks like a fit, we send you a link to a short video interview you can record from your phone whenever suits you. You will hear from us either way. Nobody disappears on you.
Pay:

What Zip Code do you currently live in? Which project management tools have you used? (Basecamp, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, ClickUp, other, or none) This role has real projects and small errands in the same day. You might be chasing a brochure proof before a print deadline in the morning and ordering birthday gifts in the afternoon. Are you applying because that mix is what you want?
